Hard pass..

Do not participate in the market of stupidity please.

All of these stupid teams who signed their QB are trading away or watching their guys try to flee to another team.

Russel Wilson has even found out the hard way that it’s tough to build and he wants out too.

If we sign Dak for 35+ this team is screwed for a few years.
You know the more I think about it unemotionally I'm starting to think like you. You're winning me over. I like Dak but not at the point of crippling the team. I'm kind of sad I'm feeling this way but 40 million to a guy that's 1-3 in the playoffs and has similar numbers to Goff and Wentz. I know numbers don't tell the whole story. Personally I feel Dak is better (more talented) than Watson and not as good as Mahomes and if Watson got 39 million and Mahomes got 45 then Dak could be looking at 42 or 43 million. If we do that we will suck just like Houston and Philly. And I'm predicting it now that this past Super Bowl will be the last one Mahomes is in cuz the quality of the team will fade due to his high contract and they will be like Green Bay, a great QB but can't get over the hump.

Dallas would do it..

I’m telling you the Jones’s are stupid.. Look at their recent deals.

They had brains when it came to Demarcus Ware, Dez, and Demarco but have suddenly got stupid again starting with that trash Zeke contract.

Where do you have Mac Jones ranked in this year's qb class?

Mac Jones is probably the biggest gamble in the draft. He had an NFL quality line, two 1st round NFL wide receivers, and a 1st round NFL running back. I would pass on him.

I agree. I like Dak but the team does not have much talent. We are not winning a Super Bowl with this roster. I saw somebody say draft Matt Jones at 10. I think if he is there we should consider it.

yeha man, I’d hate to lose dak but he’s just not worth 40mil a year....I mean I’m sure they could get creative but a cap hit of 40mil a year is too much even for a qb that is top 5-7

at some point the sum of the pieces is better with more quality pieces vs one big piece....

Jones seems to be a boom or bust kind of player. A team is going to take a chance on him maybe in the third round, but would not be shocked if someone desperate takes him in the second. Especially with most of the other name QB being taken in the top 10. He could be guy like Burrows, had great talent around him but not as heralded as Burrows, and at least not worth a first round overall pick. Overshadowed by his Heisman winning WR. i would definitely try to get him in the third round if he was still available.

I still think and always will that it is incredibly telling that they are going back and forth over length of contract. You don't do this if you are sure you have your franchise guy, you don't risk it.

Jones think Dak has holes in his game that prevents him from ever being elite. It's simple as that.

Dak is worth top quarterback money. Just not with the Cowboys. Our roster is flawed especially on defense. The only way this can workout is if we go to the Super Bowl. I wish for Dak, we could trade him to a team on the brink of the Super Bowl. The 2016 and 2018 rosters were better then what we have now and we could not get past the divisional round. We can’t beat Tampa, Green Bay, the Rams and Seahawks so why waste the money on his contract.

yeah I hear ya, too many holes to fill....I think he’s worth that 35 to 37 range but 40 plus is just too much....I would be very curious if Dallas used the transitional tag on him to see what types of offers he would get

If anything...this means the Cowboys are.....a very.....mediocre team. However it turns out. No matter how things change, it all stays the same. Signing Dak or NOT signing Dak is not going to change this teams' fortunes. A change in total Philosophy from the top down is the only thing that will make a difference. I expect no such thing...resigned to the fate already.

That is just it. The Cowboys are not letting Dak go and Dak does not want to go. The talking head speculation is so stupid. Broaddus really sounds the dumbest talking about the team will need to trade a second round pick along with the first to get a quarterback. He knows how the Cowboys work. Then the idiots on national television acting like Dak is mad at the Cowboys. Really dudes? The Cowboys made Dak a rich man and a household name.

Wait!! I can remember when we were up in arms about 30M!!!!

If they tag him, next year it will be 50M. Good thing these tags run out or they'd be paying him 80M per in 2025. Just change the name to Dak Prescott Stadium.

The Jones boys really screwed the pooch on this deal buddy. I cant believe he's been so willing to bet on himself. Like him or not you have to admire his confidence.

Imagine if we would've paid Dak 2 seasons ago, called Zeke's bluff when he held out, and waited on paying Jaylon smith. We'd have our franchise QB on a bargain deal now and we wouldn't have so much money tied up in two positions that have the shortest life spans in the NFL.
Yes, Imagine having a payed for cap breaking QB with a broken ankle
A fat RB that loves jerry buying lunch at Applebees
and a Gimp LB that loves to pad his stats with assists.
Paul McCartney might have written a song about this current team
Imagine there is no Jerry
Its easy if you try
No cap below us
Above us only sky

Nope not even close but even less so when they pay 1 guy close to 40 a year then they will tell us they can not afford a defensive free agent that isn't trash.
They've been saying that for 5 years including when they paid Dak 350K a year.

Dak's contract isn't an issue and likely never will be.
