Unfortunately this is a weak draft for DTs and LBs and I'm not going to reach for need.

I see what you’re saying but there are 2 things to consider

1. “reaching” is relative. The Chiefs “reached” for Mahomes and the Chargers “reached” for Herbert. Do you think they’re not happy they “reached”? Reaching depends on the scouts and talent evaluators you have. If our scouts say that Collins or Barmore are worth the 10th and better than Surtain why wouldn’t you take them even if the media thinks you “reached”?

2. There are major red flags with both CBs IMO

so my first priority be trade down if I can but if not I would take an OT over the CB

but of course that is JMO

It’s not about the Cowboys. I like your opinions. I just wanted to know what you thought about the quarterbacks. Plus we pick to late to get one of the top 4.
I haven't spent too much time looking at the QB's just yet.

Ok. I don’t think the quarterbacks are as good as the Baker and Lamar draft. I think they had 5 first round picks. Lawrence will be lucky to start his career as well as Allen has. I am looking forward to your opinion on the quarterbacks. I know the Cowboys defense has to be depressing for you.

Here are the top 5 QB's I have heard/read:

1-Lawrence
2-Wilson
3-Lance
4-Fields
5-Mac Jones

I think Humphrey is the #1 center in this draft. If he goes in the second round he would be an absolute steal.

Notice how Surtain is slowly moving down many big boards.
As Surtain should be (slowly moving down draft boards). He's a slow CB. Why would anyone have him rated in the top 10? Or even top 15?

Many Cowboys sports writers had the Cowboys taking Surtain at #10. They must want slow CBs who can't keep up with much faster and quicker WRs?

I think you’re wrong

Lawrence will have a great deal of success because of his abilities and his HC

there will be a clear boss who will acquire talent and impose discipline

I expect Jaguars to be in the playoffs not this year but by next year

Just in time for Urban to retire for health concerns again ;)

If we trade back and can still get Horn I'd be happy. We have a ton of holes to fill on Defense.
And if horn is gone then what
Evaluations of players is not close to an exact science
But the odds are the higher rated players have a higher chance of success. Some positions more than others
But there is a reason Farley and surtain are ranked higher
I like horn but the CB we draft will be playing a large number of snaps day one
And I think Farley and surtain are more day one ready

I really like Farley. He's scrappy and plays the ball well.
I would probably lean towards drafting him at 10 if he is there. Surtain I would probably trade back. Unfortunately there is no player I like enough at 10 besides Farley.

I’d take surtain or Farley at 10
Parsons too if he was there
I suspect one of surtain or Farley will be there

Allen was almost the MVP this season. If Lawrence is that good that fast I will give him his props. I just don’t see it right now. He is just too skinny.

Allen has the sane stuff
He had talent and then he has a smart HC who believing defense and discipline and the run game

I think Meyer will do the same in Jacksonville

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I think if we could get a decent 1 and 3 tech to help plug up the middle and keep the guards off Jaylon and LVE they would excell. Especially Jaylon, he plays better when he can just run to the ball and not have to fight through so many lineman. I think Parsons is the same way, so I'm not sure if ide spend such a high pick on an off ball linebacker.

Maybe, if all of his numbers looked good it would probably make me feel better. I would be more interested in his hip flexibility and changing of direction.
I think his other numbers will look good based on muscle memory. Hes probably been doing db drills for years. His jumping is what may be pedestrian
