I think his other numbers will look good based on muscle memory. Hes probably been doing db drills for years. His jumping is what may be pedestrian

Yea, he is very well coached. He is probably the most polished DB in the draft. I think Farley has more potential though. Its hard to grade some defenders when they were surrounded by top tear talent.

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I think if we could get a decent 1 and 3 tech to help plug up the middle and keep the guards off Jaylon and LVE they would excell. Especially Jaylon, he plays better when he can just run to the ball and not have to fight through so many lineman. I think Parsons is the same way, so I'm not sure if ide spend such a high pick on an off ball linebacker.
I also think our LB’s would be much better if we had better DT’s
My thinking with parsons is he is very talented and we have jaylon on a elite contract and in a year we have to pay LVE
Parsons means you either don’t have to pay LVE top money or you can move on from jaylon
Never great to have two LB’s on big contracts unless you have a 3/4 and they are pass rushers

LVE shouldn't be expensive, but who knows. He is also always hurt. Parsons does look good on tape. I would be okay with that as long as we can get a fa in the interior with the cap savings.

They will use 5th year option on LVE so we have plenty of time to see if he can get and stay healthy before we have to sign him
But no matter what we do at LB the real key to better LB play is better DT players
We need guys who can keep 300 lb linemen off the LB

The main issue I have ALWAYS had with Kiper is how far guys move on his boards between versions when they haven't played a single game or held a workout.

So did he not watch the player before the initial rating or he changed it based on what everyone else does?

I'm far bigger fan of Dane Brugler and Matt Miller.
Not sure either guy is perfect but they do the leg work themselves and stand by their film work.
Liked that about Mayock as well before he left to GM the Raiders.

I agree with you regarding Kiper's board and mocks. But, playing devil's advocate, I think those changes occur based on what teams share with him about the players.

They do but then they aren't 'his' really boards.
We've always had people who stated the board was consensus based and others who stood on their film.
Kiper is supposedly a film guy.

I know he hates the ESPN requirements to release them so early and that has softened my stance a lot toward him but I'm not a fan of major yoyo-ing on prospects.
You either like a guy or you don;t and a few slots as others rise makes sense but insane guy being top 10 then off the top 25 for absolutely nothing is just weird.

Goose Gosselin used to do a great job of this where he openly admitted his boards were based on scouts takes. He never got up which scouts so he kept access to that data to build his boards.

I’m not interested in taking Parsons but Jaylon is trash and LVE is one hit away from the bench at a position whose job is to hit and take hits

No way am I paying LVE

We need to move on from both next year that’s why we need a couple of good mid round LBs in this draft

I wouldn’t extend LVE and I don’t think they will unless something changes
I would use the 5th year option
You don’t want to go into next years draft needing 2 starting LB
I hope we get a LB this year who can be a future starter and LB is a position that have have a good shot at getting a starter quality player thru the 3rd and maybe 4th round

agree but there will be LBs in rds 2-5 that could play and start for us

the only LB I would take on rd 1 is Collins if he’s there in the 16-25 range or perhaps Bolton in late 20s if we are able to trade down

the only way I take Parsons at 10 is if my scouts tell me he is the next generational LB and he is able to overcome his maturity questions during team interviews

I would take parsons myself
But I agree there will be LB later
LB has the highest success rate of any position in rnd 3 and a fairly high rate in 4th rnd

What separates it for me is Farley's speed and ball skills. He is a player that always turns his head and plays the football. How many years have we seen our corners in perfect position, but can never locate the football.

Actually he's not..most of his highlights have him facing the defender with his arms up..he doesn't look for the ball , that's Surtain and definitely Horn

Forget about the highlights, watch the games and then let me know.

I’ve always wanted to see a players worst plays
Every player has highlights but I think you could learn more by seeing their failures. What went wrong, was it technique, instincts
There is a reason real scout watch game film not highlights

To make a real opinion on a player, you have to look at full games, not highlights. I'll admit, I don't watch many prospects, but rather rely on trusted insiders who have legitimate NFL sources inside the scouting community. I have watched the majority of the corners, knowing the team will be hunting them as Awuzie, Lewis aren't expected back.
