Sure Tom Brady has 7 rings but he's no Tony Romo

Enmity towards Tony Romo has been established and embedded for so long that anyone should know wording a thread title like this is akin to skeet shooting and shouting, "PULL!"

This has almost nothing to do with enmity towards Romo. The thread title is celebrating Romo's broadcasting prowess in the face of Brady's championships. This is what fans of this franchise are reduced to celebrating. Kinda embarrassing, actually.

Romo kissed the feet of Jason Garrett and was allowed to run the Cowboys offense into the ground with his pass happy ways.
He is in no way a Hall of Fame player.
He should have been, and could have been, but he chose to ignore the fundamentals of football and tried to be the superstar.
He ignored the run game, and racked up yards outside the red zone, but then fell short inside the 20 yard line.
I had hoped for better from him, but he did it his way and the Cowboys suffered for it.
And Rodgers is a queen....... you're a lonely, lonely man.

Nothing better to do than stalk a Cowboys forum.

Romo is the greatest sports commentator ever and was a great NFL QB during his playing time.

Proud to say I'm a Tony Romo fan.

Miss you #9
Sorry to ruin your day but your boy Romo was a second tier quarterback when he played and on top of that did way too much choking.

hahaha. Love the comedy on this site.
Romo was not a great QB. He was a good qb for the era he played in. I would say he was better than Dak is compared to the current crop of QB's.
He never won a lick, didn't deliver when the team needed him most. I am sorry to hear that you miss him. He in all honestly did not move the needle with retiring. He is a great commentator no doubt about that. Not in the same league as Madden.. not yet at least.
Pat & John were icons. Romo is very good, love his passion and love for the game. He was right about Tampa & KC for sure. He picked them to meet in the SB.

Romo is the best qb to play for dallas since Roger. Already a goat at commentating and he's just starting!

Tony would have a ring. Except he miffed that FG hold.

Not that impressed with him as a commentator.
During the Superbowl must have used the phrase "Keep it simple" at least 15 times.
He probably got used to making that statement to Garrett during his playing days.

I never understood this sentiment. He definitely botched the hold. Dallas still needed three more wins for the Super Bowl. I think they all would have been on the road as well. They had a shot, especially with Parcells, but it was not a certainty.

The motivation behind the creation of the thread (and its title) is likely no different from any other related to Tony Romo throughout the years, albeit exaggerated in this particular instance. It is the entirely expected gut reaction-and-response to the thread's title that I sarcastically described.

Public discourse concerning anything Romo has or has not done is virtually always bilaterally embarrassing almost from their start. Intentional or not, this thread's title was a notable bait-and-hook that got the ball rolling about him this time.

This thread makes no sense and out of nowhere attack on a former QB that is still occupying space in the minds of Cowboys "fans" that hate him just to hate.

This stuff doesn't belong on this board and should only be seen on rival fan forums.
