Ridiculous.

Mayhaps they had a reason.
But your asking why you felt he was handled harshly. And you don’t like the answer that most take the punishment , show remorse and often get the suspension reduced .

Not only did Elliott not follow that but he continued to make poor choices in his conduct while under investigation. When are fans going to admit he made some really poor choices which didn’t help his situation.

I’d describe that as like waving a red flag to punish me. He was showing too much arrogance. Much like Jethro was with the owners who put him in his place as well.

The, "investigation," could have ended when law enforcement didn't press charges. Goodell's kowtowing to the media outcry was a sign of weakness and ultimately brought more attention to something that would've gone away.

I almost think it emboldened him to further tackle, "social issues," and lead us to where we're at. I know you're all in on this social engineering nonsense, but most people watch sports to get away from it. There's more evidence of actual harm to the league after getting into those issues than any player misbehavior ever caused.

It's because the game is bigger than the players, owners, and bureaucrats who happen to be participating at the moment.

That’s mainly because you don’t agree in their position on social issues. I applaud those using their stage to support their stance on social issues. We see it all through celebrity entertainers.

Again, the NFL is more than a football league. It’s sports entertainment at the highest level. And it’s on network TV for all to see.

Its why the league feels it’s in their best interest to present as wholesome image as possible for attracting the fringe fans. And in order to keep the Networks and their Sponsors supporting a better image. That’s the bottomline . It’s always about the money.

Ratings drops are a real thing. That's actual harm to the league. The position taken is irrelevant.

That's all understood. You're ignoring the recent drops in viewership.

No, not at all. But the NFL drop in viewership is much lower than the overall drop in TV viewership.

The loss of TV viewership isn’t just a NFL issue. It’s a cultural change as young Americans are not watching traditional TV for their entertainment.

Some don’t even own a TV. And if they do watch network programming are streaming it. It’s an issue Networks and cable programming are battling with. Live sports and NFL are still their biggest draw

Most likely NFL and others will begin negotiating with online and streaming entities to make up the shift. NFL of course has already begun with some of their games on Yahoo. If you’ve noticed on Sunday all of your regionally televised games on Sunday are broadcast on Yahoo.

They're accounting for streaming now, too. Still losing viewers.

Possibly. We do know, however, that Zeke did some stuff that looks negative to the NFL. That's why he got 6 games. All he has to do is say: "I apologize, I'll try to do better and comport myself in a manner that will make the NFL proud of me."

There was no doubt whatsoever that it was conduct unbecoming. And that he needed to cut his crapp. We saw it on film.

Goodell deserves much credit for not only steering the league thru this seasons pandemic but really the most difficult era Id argue in NFL history as it continue to transcend with the times including all of the issues it’s confronted with in society.

I know he’s received criticism for his disciplinary actions of players but that’s a critical part of the success he’s been able to achieve overcoming theses social unrest the league and its players have encountered which has divided some of our fans as they have walked away as a result.

But he’s stayed the course protecting the Iconic label and its owners interest. And every decision in the long run appears the right decision for the league.

But the way he handled this pandemic with strict guidelines fining HC’s for not wearing mask initially and the protocols to avoid not cancelling any games which no other league can claim is truly remarkable.

He’s going to be an early lock for HOF. And history is going to reflect generously on him perhaps before he’s done surpassing Rozelle as greatest Commish ever.

Yea, I said it here first.
Nope, worse commish I have ever seen in the NFL.

I'm sure they devote many dollars and manpower to derive such numbers.
Or maybe not.
We all get surprised when giant companies are found incompetent.

The point is they're down by the same metrics they've previously used. In fact they recently started using the OOH (out of home) numbers to try and inflate what they're getting. They didn't use them previously.

Sure.

There's also no doubt they put a spotlight on him they haven't done since.

Yes sir, he at least tried,, then kind of got shot down, Jerry backed off when he saw the sheriff walk out on that dusty street...lol
One of Jerrys greatest moments for about a second or two.
Too many dirty owners like Mara and Kraft, I really think Jerry was actually trying to be a good guy, but he figured out at least on that day who he does business with.
Those in here that hate on Jerry need to understand that why he does have his short comings,,, characters like Mara... Kraft... Snyder... those are true scum bags..
Just ask that owner that posts here,,, whats his forum name again... scratching head.
