Dak threw for nearly 5000 yards and 30 touchdowns with another 3 on the ground. That’s his peak and it’s not bad at all, stats wise.

However he’s also the same quarterback who lost 4 of his last 6 games in 2019 in an unprecedented collapse. Don’t give him the credit for those stats without giving him the blame for 2019.

If it’s Russell Wilson or Dak Prescott that’s not even a comparison. It’s Russell Wilson every single day.

Last 5 losses, Zeke's lack of long runs, td's.
loss vs Vikings: Zeke 20-47 yards, 0 td's, longest run 6 yards.
loss vs Patriots: Zeke 21-89 yards, 0 td's, longest run 12 yards.
loss vs Buffalo: Zeke 12-71 yards, 0 td's, longest run 30 yards.
loss vs Chicago: Zeke 19-81 yards, 2 td's, longest run 31 yards.
loss vs Eagles: Zeke 13-47 yards, 0 td's, longest run 10 yards.

I think Seattle or Patriots would be the only teams Dak would do the tag and trade deal.
Seattle is a better fit with similar offensive philosophy that could take advantage of his mobility and use his arm in the deep passing game.

Why would Seattle want Dak for more money than they could have Wilson for
Lots more

So when Emmitt Smith held out for 2 games, you was in favor of trading him???

I’m amazed how folks claim to know what offers and terms are on the table.

First Emmitt was clearly one of the best if not the best RB in the League, Dak is no where near Emmitt's level. Second, this has gone on for three years, not two games. HUGE difference between 2 games and 3 years. The Cowboys have given him solid contract offers. But he is trying to maximize every single penny when he is only an above average QB. He has been playing hard ball the whole time. This could have been done long ago if he just accepted a fair offer.

And by your criteria, neither was Aikman. When Emmitt didn't play, Cowboys lost.

When dak played this season did we win? He's a good quarterback but you are comparing him with a hall of famer, legend.

Again if Aikman was better than Dak, why did the Cowboys lose when Emmitt sat?

OK, several moving goalposts.

First, yes Smith was one of the top, if not the top RBs at the time. But including this into the discussion is meaningless. Smith didn’t receive an offer he believed acceptable, just as Dak believes.

Secondly, there is no comparison between the 3 years of Dak/ Dallas negotiations and the Smith holdout. As an aside, Smith’s negotiations started at least 8 months prior to the missed games, while Dak did not choose to sit any games.

Third, how in God’s name do you know what was a “solid contract offer”??? Please, share the $ and years of the contract. Inquiring minds would like to know, and Miss Cleo isn’t available.

You sound more hurt that a player is trying to maximize his value. That ship has already sailed. Dak received $31 million for 2020, and if tagged, will receive $37 million. Excluding rumors and gossip, Dak turned down ever escalating offers starting in the high $20 million range to the mid $30 million range to now over $40 levels. Is any of this true? I don’t know, and honestly, neither do you.

Dak’s demands have likely gone up based on other QB contracts, apparently higher that what Dallas offered. Every QB signing is raising the floor in Dallas. Is it fair? Likely not. But this is the situation they are in.
