They got back a 3rd and a conditional 2nd for the guy they traded the No. 8 pick in 2016, the No. 77 pick (third round) in 2016, the No. 100 pick (fourth round) in 2016, a 2017 first-rounder and a 2018 second-rounder to get............Someone get Howie Roseman a "Trade Deal For Dummies" book

I don't think Hurts is a sure thing as QB1. I think the Eagles will pay close attention to the top QB's.

If you want a team’s 2021 2nd rd pick this year you have to trade a 2022 1st.

I do understand your confusion since your brain just can’t grasp the fact that Wentz will now be wearing Colt blue instead of Cowboy blue. You will get over it. All of us are here to help with your anguish. Just reach out to us.

do we know this for sure?

Pretty much unless Wentz does the unthinkable and pays back part of his bonus to cut the Eagles dead money hit they have to take on bonuses already paid out. They have like a $34 million dead money hit. I think after applying that, they end up saving only $800K or so in cap space this year.

Bears are in desperation mode now. Prime trade up team it would seem if they can’t get Darnold. Niners are high on Darnold and the connections with Saleh are there.
On CBS sports radio they were discussing the Bears qb situation and trading for Derek Carr. The host said that they should go after Dak and trade 3 1st rounders for him. He said that the Bears should call up the Cowboys and not get off the phone until a deal is done. Said Dak is top 10 qb and the Bears have not had a good qb since Cutler and he was iffy. It was an interesting piece.

Why did they fire Pederson if they are getting rid of Wentz as well?
Douggie was the planned scapegoat for Howie. Howie probably had already decided to move Wentz. It was either Doug or Howie that had to take the blame. Howie certainly wasn’t going to do it.

I can see the colts and philly targeting a QB like Mac Jones in the middle of round 1 or bottom of the round to snatch a QB. IMO..he's pro ready and better than Wentz or Hurts. Really good insurance too.

Maybe the Eagles should just take the year off and get their **** together.

Texans are a mess and Jags are rebuilding. Indy is a good team and no way they finish last.
and til they dont, STILL HAVE WATSON. So Houston has a chance to not be last in the div as long as they have him. The colts still dont have a QB.

It's actually not a terrible deal for Philly either. If the rumors are true, all Wentz has to do is play 75% of their snaps in 2021 and that 2nd round in 2022 becomes a first.

With no real competition there, Philly is likely going to end up with a later round first round pick.

Its absolute terrible deal for Eagles. $34 million dead money cap hit. Eagles used 7 players (combo of draft picks & starters) to move up to get Wentz. This goes down as one of worst ROI in NFL history.

Birds take a $34M cap hit. That is going to really impact their roster.

In a sense yeah but technically they save a tiny amount of cap space this year. His cap hit was $34 million this year and by trading him they still have to take just over $33 million in cap charges. They end up saving around $800K I believe. But they have a lot more fat to trim just to get to the cap limit.

Absolute steal by Indy.

Nah, they paid about what he's worth. Personally if I was Indy I'd have risked a second rounder, he has some history of being very good, if he returns to his top form, or close to it, he'd be worth it. Considering Indy has been to the playoffs the last two years, and for most teams their playoff window comes and goes pretty quickly, they need good quarterback play right away, and Wentz has enough experience to be able to drop into the team and do well, IF he is able to.
That's the question of course, it's a pretty good risk giving up a second, but teams do take risks...

Wasn't Roseman the brain trust behind dumping Reid for Chip Kelly?
