On CBS sports radio they were discussing the Bears qb situation and trading for Derek Carr. The host said that they should go after Dak and trade 3 1st rounders for him. He said that the Bears should call up the Cowboys and not get off the phone until a deal is done. Said Dak is top 10 qb and the Bears have not had a good qb since Cutler and he was iffy. It was an interesting piece.
I think if you look at the last 2 years worth of games---so 32 games---you'll find that Carr and Dak are very close.
Not going to get into an argument of who is better, etc, but I do think people here sometimes arent aware of what other QBs are doing lately.
I do think Gruden would like to try someone else out in LV though.

Colts have overpaid here, great result for Eagles. He would have been cut before 1 March to save paying him a further $10 million.

Its absolute terrible deal for Eagles. $34 million dead money cap hit. Eagles used 7 players (combo of draft picks & starters) to move up to get Wentz. This goes down as one of worst ROI in NFL history.

It's not a bad deal given where they are now. Sure, trading all those picks and that big contract sucks and is bad, but at this point given where they are and with their back against the wall, getting a pick next year that could turn into a 1st round pick isn't bad deal considering the crap surrounding Wentz at this point.

Nope.

They had to trade him if they wanted to get rid of him. Trading him saved them $800K against the cap this year. If they had cut him pre-June 1, they would have had an additional $24 million in cap charges this year (above the $33 million they already have to take).

There was no chance they were going to cut Wentz.

So Wentz is reunited with the guy who had him throw for 33 TDs and only 7 INTs in 13 games on 440 attempts, sacked 28 times, while Dak in his ‘best season’ on 596 attempts, meaning 156 more throws in 16 games notched three less TDs and 11 INTs, sacked 23 times, meaning the latter had much better pass protection in a pass-happy offense.

We’ll see who was the real problem in Philly now...

Everybody forgetting that Hurts transferred because he didn't want to compete. I'm not sold on Hurts.
That's not really fair to him. He got replaced in the Championship game with the young stud that was the top QB prospect in the country and eventual starter. He took it like a man, a lot better than Wentz did, and continued to be there for his team.

He also had the chance to play for Lincoln Riley, a coach known for improving passing accuracy and skills. He knew his future as the QB1 was over at Bama but the oddity is they were getting up on teams so fast ion the 1st half, Tua wasn't even playing the 2nd half of many games. Which actually cost him his shot at the Heisman.

Hurts was preceded at OU by Mayfield and Murray, both Heisman winners and both had lost their starting jobs at Tech and A&M.

I don't think it's about not wanting to compete, most HC's name their guy and that's it. That's how Romo ended up at CBS.

I agree and am not sold on him either because I haven't seen him improve that much from the passer at Bama and he had better numbers at OU but that's the Big 12 and WR's get really open.

Wentz badly needed to move on with a fresh start.
He's definitely going to a team with a nice all-around roster.
Going to have to get his mojo back, but he's still fairly young.

Honestly the colts gave up way to much. That 2nd is most likely going to be a first if Wentz doesn't get hurt, which actually is a big IF. No one else wanted Wentz all the Colts had to do is wait and the Eagles would have folded because Wentz was going to get paid in March if nothing was done.

Birds take a $34M cap hit. That is going to really impact their roster.

Wait till JJ pays Dak what he wants. You think that will impact the Cowboys roster? But, Dak wants even more than that and he is damaged goods at this point in time.

Damn I was hoping he'd go to an NFC team and make them horrible for the next few years like he did Philthy.

Indy wanted Stafford as well and made a play for him. Indy obviously believes they are a QB away and if Wentz is surrounded by the pieces, he can get it done.
