PSLs should be illegal. Why would you pay fee just to be allowed to buy tickets? It double charging for something.
You have to look at it as an investment. You're basically buying the rights to seats of your choosing. They're YOUR seats. And if you're going to the games anyways, you're not getting scalped and gauged left and right. You're buying the tickets at face value. Let an opponent like Green Bay or Pittsburgh come to town, and you can probably sell your tickets just to those games and pay for the entire season. You also get first dibs on playoff tickets and even other big events at the venue, depending on a few things.

Some of my family has owned Carolina Panthers PSL's since 1996 that they probably paid 5 grand for at the time. They were worth upwards of 100 grand a few years ago when they were winning.

What? What is the question? It's not even a complete thought here. I have a guess or two about what is being asked but that's all it is, a guess.

Having PSLs? Just bought 2 seats.

Thanks in Advance!
This is an item where if you have a ton of money and want to be able to say you have your own seats, then God bless....

If you intend to break even financially, you won't come close.

Most of the seats in that place are worth far less than face value by kickoff.

That doesn't at all mention the PSL fees.

I've been there about five times and I've never paid over 200 for a 325 seat. I'm sure the face has been raised lately to 350/375.

Great for you....if you can afford it. Buying first and asking later tells me you can. Enjoy the 8-9 win Jerry's. I'm sure you'll find them relevant and interesting.

I had club level seats, 3rd level, row one, 20 yard line on Cowboys side. 2 seats, paid 16,000 each seat.

I retired and did not want to continue having that burden of trying to sell games each year if I did not go. Nor expense. I had a chance to sell for break even in 2016, and took it. And have not regretted it for a second.

why?

Not even a close truth in commence..

they offered a product to the public who have a choice to buy them or not for non essential product..not gouging and far from illegal..

want it changed do not purchase them,, have no one buy single PSL and that should change the system..(wont happen)

as of now i dont see many empty seats in most stadiums but for sure ATT DC stadium is nearly at capacity all 16 games plus ad din all the other events held there, well doesnt seem the public cares much about PSLs.

im betting large majority are purchased by corporations and used for employee bonus and also given away for marketing and sales fluff IE Tax deductible in many states..

this IMO is what ruined the in person games for the common fan as they can't afford seats most days add din parking and concessions plus the the of fan you get in those psls are not the typical fanatic's you hope to be there cheering with you..its like sitting next the shush person at a movie theater..they dont get it..

yet an occasional game is nice to attend typical get the 3rd or 4th tier uber up and what not..I prefer watching at a sports bar or really HOME or private watching party..

its not illegal anymore then private golf clubs, country clubs, and other fee based membership offerings..

you chose to do it or not..not even grey area for entertainment..its better then time share lol

Is this something that you pay cash for or can you finance as well? Thx...

You can do either. At the time to finance it was 8% interest. In 2009 anyway.
If you financed, it was due the end of February, a once a year payment. Tickets were due end on May.

Paying face value for the tickets is a great win! If we sell two sets of tickets for only 2 games I pay for the season and then some. The parking being right outside the building apparently goes for 300-500, plus having first dibs for playoffs and college games is stellar!!!

And after studying all aspects, the PSLs are for the life of the stadium lease, so the fee for that spread over that time equates to roughly $500 a year.

When I had my PSL's. I got an offer to buy tickets to the 1st ever college Playoffs Championship. I can't remember the price, something like $1200 for 2 seats and that is a guess. And probably in nose bleed section. You do not get your regular PSL seats.

But I was working in Jacksonville, FL at the time. Plan was to sell them though. But I never got around to buying them. And dang it, Ohio State wins it that year, I would have went for that.
I got the deadline date wrong, and missed out. Was too busy working, just did not do it.

There are few teams in the league worth a PSL. The cowboys are one of them b/c you will always be able to sell the tickets for more than you paid for them.
I briefly owned club level PSL's for the Falcons when they built MBS stadium b/c I thought I was going to be able to buy those seats at face value for everything that came through town. Thats what the sales guy told me anyway. MBS hosts a lot of great college football games, there was a Final 4 coming through, and big concerts. Well, it turned out the seats were great for football but awful for concerts. I got kicked out of my seats for all the college games and offered first crack at seats in the rafters instead. And as you can probably guess, Falcon games have zero demand (unless the cowboys are coming to town) and the tickets were worth about 50% of what I paid for them on the secondary market. So, I was taking a 4k loss on football tickets every year. Luckily , I was somehow able to unload the PSLs to a new sucker.

1) I go to at least 6 games a year (Thanksgiving is always reserved for family). I’m also a creature of habit. I like to know I have a seat available and it’s the same seat for every game at the same price (within an individual season). The only way to do that is the PSL and season tickets. I had non-PSL seats at Texas Stadium in Section 33 and was prepared to not have seats at The Stayjum because of the PSL, but IMO, Jerry did me right - comparable seats in Section 217 only had a $5k per seat PSL. That works out to a meager $167 per year, or less than $17 per game. I spend more on that on beer at the games.

2) The downside is you’re making a 30 year commitment. I had to think about that at the time because that 30 years puts me into my late 80s. But my dad went with me to games until he was 91 so I hope I’ll be able to do the same. The other downside is having to buy preseason games that, until recently, were at the same price as regular season games.
