Dak isn't a bad QB, but the guy hasn't won anything that makes him worth 37 million. What has he won? Good guy, but the dude will not bring us a ring.

I know this thread is similar to previous threads, but I beg of you Jerry. Do NOT sign him to a new contract. I'm good with a QB in draft and having him learn behind Dalton for a year or two. Dalton is cheaper and almost as efficient.

First off Jerry doesn't read comments hear. He has real work to do and doesn't have time to read what all the whiners want. Second there hasn't been a Super Bowl winning team in the last 30 years that didn't have a top 10 defense. The Cowboys don't have that so to say Prescott hasn't won a Super Bowl is true but he hasn't had a Super Bowl defense either. Here's a news flash for you. This is a TEAM sport not just a QB sport. The odds go up with good QB's, but they still need a top 10 defense too.

Different site had it at 8th with 20 points per game. That said, here is the season, defensive ppg, and Dallas team record:

2016: 19.1 ppg (5th) 13-3
2017: 20.8 ppg (13th) 9-7
2018: 20.2 ppg (6th) 10-6
2019: 20.1 ppg (11th) 8-8
2020: 29.6 ppg (28th) 6-10

Offensive Ranks (ppg)

2016: 26.3 ppg (5th) 13-3
2017: 22.1 ppg (14th) 9-7
2018: 21.2 ppg (22nd) 10-6
2019: 27.1 ppg (6th) 8-8
2020: 24.7 ppg (17th) 6-10

Interesting to see the defense from 2016-2019 (4 seasons) only had a 1.7 ppg difference from lowest to highest allowed so the Dallas defense has been fairly consistent in those years yet the Dallas offense saw a difference of 5.9 ppg difference from lowest to highest output........and the highest ppg year for the offense was in 2019 yet the team could only muster an 8-8 record in spite of the defense playing well.

Very interesting.

The defense performed to a fairly decent level over 4 years given the amount of resources pumped into the offense.

Romo didn’t have empty stats. Romo had a record number of 4th quarter comebacks and he won games with the supporting cast consisting of players like Costa and Bernadeau. Dak has not displayed the ability to over come anything, even when surrounded by a great supporting cast.
Dak doesn't have 4th quarter comebacks or you just give the credit to everybody else.......

Romo didn't win anything. How many playoff wins does he have? How many times did he make it to the NFC championship game?

Dak has won games with backups and has records as well..... he doesn't get any credit though right. Has Cowboys record for most consecutive win streak...... he gets no credit though.

You guys are a bunch of hypocrites, plain and simple

I can’t believe we’re still getting these threads after people literally already saw the drop off from Prescott to Dalton.

I can get it if you don’t necessarily want Prescott, but the solution can’t be Dalton.

Romo has a career 2-4 playoff record in his 10 years as a starter (2 of those 10 years he went out early in the season with a season ending injury) with no NFC Championship appearances........so the same number of Championship game appearances as Dak so far.

Difference is Dak is 1-2 in the playoffs with just 4 full seasons. His career isn't close to being done or his development. This myth that Romo was such a great QB that won and Dak is terrible is just that a myth.

For the record Romo was a top 10 QB in his time and was top 5 at one point. Dak is also a very good QB and is a top 10 QB. Those are facts and everytime you Dak haters say he is terrible it just shows you guys have a personal hate towards him and nothing to do with talent at the position.

You guys are looking for differences when you should be looking for commonalities.

They both were saddled with pretty meh defenses horribly constructed by a faulty architect.

Dak, or whoever the QB is moving forward, will suffer the same fate if this team doesn't starting make better moves on Defense and stop rewarding mediocrity like Tyrone Crawford and Xavier Woods.

I can't disagree with you there. I like Romo and Dak, was just pointing out the hypocrisy. Both QBs had defenses that were bad and the main reason for failure. Romo and Dak both have the talent to win a superbowl but it's a team effort

But you can't have it both ways. Prescott wouldn't have looked half as good as he did in 2016 without playing behind 3 first round o lineman and with a first round running back. The resources were pumped into the offense for the QB to succeed.

Yep....we soon forget what a hot mess he looked like when Atlanta was busy sacking his immobile rear into the turf over and over again and that was with just one missing offensive lineman. Then let us not forget the getting rid of Dez and hey we can operate with just Beasley, Terrence Williams and Witten as the WR-ers. That experiment ended fast.

Liar! You know this isn't your last plea to Jerry on this topic.
