Hard to believe that dak is already entering his 6th NFL season.
That time zipped by

I thought he'd sign a long-term deal last preseason, so what do I know.

Still think, in order:
1) Signs long term deal before the season
2) Signs Tag before the season

big gap

3) Traded

I’m a Cowboys fan.. Why would I do that?

The only time I cheer against them is when the team is a lost cause and we can improve our draft position.
Yeah right. You’re not fooling anyone but maybe yourself. You’ll be rooting for Dak to fail because everyone of you posts is how Dak sucks. You won’t be able to handle the egg on your face so will continue to crap on him and hope he loses.

Yes, because that's worked so well in the pasts right? No, I'm asking the poster who made the statement.

Dallas defensive prior to Nolan had problems but no where close to the problems they displayed last year. Acting as if you get rid of every defensive player and start from scratch is not going to happen on any team. Dallas does have to good pieces to work with, I fully expect them to add more talent to the roster via the draft and in terms of FA I have seen too often that teams running out looking for high dollar FA tends not to work out to great.

They were in a complete rebuild. You asked how to rebuild the defense. Simply put, if our defense plays similar to what Carolina did in one season, we have a chance to win it all.

And you said go google Carolina. OK, well, I don't really have to do that because I can tell you right now that two major steps that Carolina made were to fire their HC and replace him with a Defensive Minded Coach in Rhule and to get rid of their big ticket QB that was killing cap. So OK, lets start there. How exactly you gonna do that Sean? Where does that part fit in with any of this?

So you see, Carolina is actually the poster child for Blow It All Up football. As I said, how do you do what you suggest without doing what it is that you seem to be entirely against. See where this is going?

Sturm stole that from me! I done tolt ya, this deal is already done and has been done for quite some time. They're smoothing out some rough edges but in principle, it's a done deal.

What is negative about that? I like Dak. I just think people are throwing guesses out there. I mean the “guess train” around here is unbelievable

I don't know many member do not think a deal will be reached and the franchise tag applied. That is a possibility but I think a longer term deal will be reached. My hope was it will get done prior to the start of FA and the draft.

I was pretty much starting to lean that the franchise tag would happen and he’d be gone. Not out of wanting it to, but because they seemed to have reached a point of no return. But if they get something reasonable done, I’m game

I like Dak.

I’m just realistic about his impact that he provides on the field and how the numbers his contract is rumored to be doesn’t validate it.

You’re not capable of having that thought because you are too big of a Cowboy homer and you will Pom Pom everything they do.

Inside Jerry's head....

If I drag out the Prescott negotiations I can remain in the news (interesting and relevant) even though my team stinks. That and a defensive draft pick or two will allow me to sell hope (and tickets and jerseys) for this year.

He isnt getting signed until last minute.

You know its funny. On one hand it feels like Dak's time has gone by quick but it feels like Jaylon and Zeke have been here for 10 years lol....

What does that have to do with anything?

You asked how the defense would be addressed. As for Dak the same people who are complaining about 40 mill many are the same who complained of a deal at 35 mill. but will now say they would go 35 mill Fact is the market value goes up but guess what so does the cap. Dak contract within 2 years will not be out of line with what the market value is at QB. With TV contracts that cap will increase. At the end of this past season the assumption was this years cap would be 175 million and now that has been increased to 180 million. The notion that Dak contract will prevent Dallas from doing anything is BS but it tends to come from those who do not want Dak regardless.

Yawn. Do you really think Jerry and company could keep that secret this long. If that is the case lay off the sauce yourself.

You can start your posts off with "I like Dak" all you want but the energy you spend towards trying to convince people he's not good is showing your stance. And that's fine. You aren't the only one but let's call this what it is lol.
