Yes, I know. This won't happen, but what if it could? What if you could choose from any of the posters here at CZ to make the Cowboys GM? Whom would you choose? For me it's a pretty ease choice. It's:
bobhaze
His posts always demonstrate a high level of knowledge of the game and the business behind it. IMO he would give us the best chance to win a championship of any of the CZ posters.
Your turn. Whom would you pick?
So, rather than try to trade him, or use him differently, or on a more limited basis, your first move would be to cut him and take an almost $17 million cap hit over the next 2 years? As my first official day of GM of the Dallas Cowboys My first order of business is the release of Jaylon Smith. We thank Jaylon for his spirit, but we decided to go in a different approach. We want instinctive football players that attack the ball.
Why would anyone here want someone else here who has never been a GM or held any kind of position on any NFL team to become the Cowboys GM?
I was right about all the things you were right about, but I was never wrong. I'm the Kryptonian of team building.Let's see..
Cowboyszone told me Garrett was next Landry... I was Anti Garrett..
Cowboyszone told me Andy Reid was too pass happy. I wanted him the day he was fired.
Cowboyszone told me Brady was finished.. I wanted to go all in on Brady & FA.
I hated the McCarthy hire and would've gone all in on Lincoln Riley or Urban Meyer.
I was ok with drafting Zeke but would've drafted Ramsey. CZ hated Ramsey because he didn't get enough INT's in college.
I had Josh Allen as #1 QB in his class. CZ hated him because of his completion percentage and liked Baker and Darnold better.
Have I been wrong time to time? Sure.. Everyone is. But i'm ridiculously right more times then not and I feel like most fans still look at football from a 1990's perspective when the game has dramatically changed in recent years with the salary cap and Anti-Defense rules.
Because the new guy isn't 0 for 25.
Ya and this person with zero NFL experience on his first day on the job does something that breaks an NFL rule that he doesn't know because he's never worked in the NFL and then gets a call from goodell saying he just broke a rule and he's fining the Cowboys and taking their 1st round pick. His response will be but we can do that in Madden football.
.
.
Was it the hardcore Jason Garrett endorsement that sold you that crushed this franchise for over a decade and wasted the careers of HOF players or great players like Romo?
And if that new guy starts heading down that path of 0 for 25 he gets fired and another new guy gets brought in.
You see how that works? Where am I losing you?
Ok if you're good with people with ZERO NFL experience running the Cowboys, good for you. Me, those people need to stick to Madden football.

If you're good with a proven failure over a quarter of a century have at it. I'll be over with the sane people if you need me.
Since you're all for hiring people with zero NFL experience to be GM the next thing you're going to say is hire some movie star to be head coach too.

@Aerolithe_Lion for sure. He is so against the cowboys, and so pro eagles it would probably work out well for us if he follows Roseman's line of thinking. sorry football buddy I had to.Yes, I know. OUCH! Everyone makes mistakes man. It's how we learn from them that makes us grow stronger. And here I was thinking about nominating CATCH17 for Assistant GM.
Sorry sir but Jerry was no more qualified to be an NFL GM when he appointed himself so than anyone around here is now. Nevermind the lineup of family members that are qualified for nothing.Since you're all for hiring people with zero NFL experience to be GM the next thing you're going to say is hire some movie star to be head coach too.

I think what @Risen Star is trying to say is that it can't get any worse than zero on the 0 for 25.
