Yea assuming The Romo fans weren’t really Cowboy favs.

In Fantasy era we have too many fans gravitating to teams because of their QB or players in their fantasy team , or just because they like them. I’m sure we have some Daksters who are attracted to him like they were Romo. It’s really tough to tell with an anonymous setting on the Internet.
I am Romo fan. Not a diehard Romo fan. The diehard think that Romo is a great QB. Romo was very good and kept us relevant.

I don’t think Fantasy Era is the primary reason. The Millennial player and younger generation don’t view these owners or teams with the same reverence’s as most NFL fans do.

These Dak Haters long for an NFL era that ended 4 seasons ago

I dont care what anyone thinks of my history, so I never was a big fan of Romo either, seemed that he only got serious once his wife told him he better step it up.
Im a fan of this team since I was a old enough to remember how the game was once played,, some here find that offensive, I dont know and really dont care.
You either recognize winners or you side with the losers.
Many choose the easy way,, lets be 8-8 and good with it.
I got no time for the new losers of society, we have enough to deal with already.

Yea, I’m not really sure. It’s always been difficult for me with wagon fans not from this area. It’s like they abandoned or don’t follow their home or regional team for some reason. It’s just not prevalent here. I don’t know anyone from this area that’s not a Cowboy fan.

No it's not...

Dak Haters will flip........like the backsliders whom left Tom Landry's church
2 years the Church of Dak has been shot down!
The only accomplishment was the TAG!
We won't flip as we are used to ineptness at its finest in the last 26 years.
Now pray and pray hard that you and your fellow Dak crushes don't totally flip out when he gets sent packing!
See the difference between us is that you worship one single player and are totally indifferent to the Star!
Here's to hoping you follow your idol to his new destination!!!!

But if Cowboys offer him the most money how is he gone or is the assumption that the Cowboys wouldn’t?

All it takes is a poison pill from another team at that point. Once you piss off a player and let him enter free agency, you have to accept there is a very good chance that player is gone. It's also unlikely the Cowboys could/would offer him the most money in a bidding war. If they were willing to spill the war chest for him, they'd have already done it.

Jerry is a prideful man. This is the guy who told his back-to-back super bowl champ coach to accept a lesser role in personnel decisions or take a hike. He's not caving to Dak. We will see a 5 or 6 year deal or no deal.

Allow me to introduce you to Ezekial Elliott. The player who forced Jerry's hand and got a new deal two years early.

Yes, Zeke is over-paid as without a formidable passing attack Jerry's hand was forced!

Maybe, unless the Cowboys want more cap space for the start of free agency. For example, 10 million in cap savings frees up space to offer all-pros like Tyron Crawford big deals.
We need at least a 10 year fully guaranteed contract for Crawford.

Oh common, Jerry has held firm on Dak for 2 years running.

I think Zeke was a different case. Jerry's hand wasn't forced. He made a practical decision not to waste a cheap rookie contract year with Dak by playing hardball with Zeke. Plus a case could be made (at the time) that Zeke deserved to be the top paid rb. No case can be made for Dak being a top 3 QB or even a top 5 QB. So, how do you justify that kind of cap crushing contract? IMO Jerry is looking hard at 2019 and that big passing yard number relative to the record.

This team has mismanaged this situation at every turn. Could've extended Dak on the cheap when it was apparent he was a good QB. Now, they've driven his price tag up so high due to indecisiveness that they don't want to pay. Now they will likely franchise him and continue to not reach a deal, thereby missing out on signing any good free agents. In other words, they didn't want one player taking up so much cap space that they couldn't sign other players, and because they managed the contract so poorly, they've put themselves in that exact situation

Credibility, meet window.

Its gotta be before March 9th which is the last day to tag a player. There is a HUGE cap difference between tagging Dak and having to absorb the entirety of his 37M salary in one season and signing him to a long term contract where we can spread out the damage without gutting the team over the summer. We are probably talking about a 30M cap swing which would be hard to bridge without cutting a lot of guys.

Right now, we can plan for a season without Dak. If we tag him, he has no incentive to move in negotiations knowing Jerry has no options.

Even a 5th grader knows there 4 Qtrs in a game

Dak is the king of showing up when the game is over. And don't cite that game, which was the worst onsides kick receiving performance in NFL history.

He's essentially 5-12 in his past 17 games.

Even 5th graders know they are NOT judged on only their last 17 assignments.

Especially when your classmates only came to class because of your presence but played hooky once Andy Dalton syllabus launched:muttley:
