Very simple way to look at it..

But...

He also threw 40 TD passes this season with 12 picks on a team that would be lucky sniff the playoffs without him.

He raises the standard and gets people believing in a Superbowl the moment he walks through the door.

Also, if you didn't notice, he gets players to comeplay for cheaper and rings chase.

My point is... Don't compare Dak to Brady. Dak has had an incredible supporting cast around him to start his career and has 1 whole wildcard win.

If Dak had started his career in Chicago you wouldn't even think about him but since he's here he has been overhyped by people like yourself that want to compare him to a 7 time Superbowl Champion.
Every word of this post is truth. :hammer:

I wish that more people would open their eyes (and brains).

I never said Dak wasn't good.

I think Dak is good. Keep up.

I've been very clear what kind of QB's I think should be given elite money to and the Dak's of the league shouldn't get it unless they already have a title like Flacco.
So then you want to pay for past performance instead of what you projected performance? That's whats leads to bloated contracts like Zeke's.

You know if you have an elite QB or not. We got 5 years to go off of. Most of these guys now days are winning a title on their rookie deal.

Dak is a standard QB and he's not a prolific passer so once the little athleticism he has goes away your stuck with basically Alex Smith.

  1. Tag Dak.
  2. Trade up in the draft and take Zack Wilson.
:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

zach Wilson is a less athletic Mitchell Trubisiky with a live arm.

Do you guys just hype up whatever no name pale quarterback pops up in the draft every year?

Only Lawrence and Fields will get a second contract.

You know what's it's going to take to get from 10 to 2? I am thinking besides their 10 pick, either Gallup or Lamb, and maybe even a 2nd this year or a 1st next.

I think there is going to be stiff competition to get into position to get him. There are quite a few QB people that have him above Lawrence as NFL ready. And one of those might be PHL.

Whichever GM drafts Zach Wilson will lose their job in 3 years

Not true. Not everyone gets the same deal or same terms. Each negotiation is an animal in and of itself. Neither one of his asks are unreasonable IMHO.
Not true for me or you, but if they didnt agree to that term then it was beneficial for the team it seems

I understand but if he is asking for the moon, why should they hand over the franchise tags. A good negotiation neither side comes away 100% happy.

yes, like i have said all along, neither side wants to "lose" this deal. Negotiations are non-existent. Mexican standoff. Each has set a price and not willing to move on it. Its personal between Jerry and France. If Dak wanted to remain in Dallas permanently he would step in but it appears he is riding the cash train for free agent status. Franchise tag here we go then a trade.

1:04 min mark. Cowboys Front Office did not want to set a precedence...

@Bobhaze please fix “Canfora” in OP title.. Thank you!

This actually suggests some progress. Dak will likely take a longer deal that gives has a player option for year 5. That's a compromise that allows the team to better manage the cap.

However, he doesn't want this situation again when he's negotiating a 3rd contract. Perfectly reasonable

I meant your statement wasn't true.

Outside of that, I'm not sure if this was a request his team just made in 2021 or one from previous negotiations in 2020. Further, any term not agreed by the team or a player will innately be one most favorable to the one rejecting it.

Does not mean that one or both of the terms discussed in the OP will be a deal breaker.

I think that is another part of it, getting him signed prior to the start of FA gives Dallas a clear picture of what they can do in FA. We will see but that is my prediction this deal will be done prior to the start of FA
Agreed. It will only help. Can keep his cap hit small and we can use tha extra money on free agents. Not bottom feeder free agents either lol

That must've worked out well for someones fantasy football team.
QBs don’t win game numnuts teams do. Or did Brady and his 3 picks win the game against GB to get him to the Super Bowl? Dak was putting up close to 40 points a game. The defense was allowing more. Who’s that on? Dak?

lol Dak homers want Dak to get paid and they want the utopian football team around him. Jerry Jones is gonna build it for yall i'm sure.

There's gonna be OL, WR's, runningbacks, coaching, and defense defense defense.. Jerry is going to get it all. With bad contracts already on the books as well.

That’s what the draft is for. Or did Tampa sign Vita Vea and Tristan Warfs? We sign Dak and we have a 3 year window. We draft a rookie and we have the same window with the chance he busts and have to do it all over again after drafting good defensive players we then have to pay.

You are demonstrating your lack of understanding of the subtle nuance of transcendent quarterback play. Brady clearly threw those interceptions on purpose so as to give his defense an opportunity to clamp down on Rodgers so they would have just that much more confidence facing Mahomes in the Super Bowl. Brady knew they had the Green Bay game in the bag and he was already playing chess by boosting his defense's confidence for the next game. Us mere mortals simply could not see it at the time but in hindsight that's obviously what he was doing.
