Oh I understand, but Dak knows that if Jerrys is willing to pay him, he will be on a Romo type term, we know how that story always plays out,,, so I could see Daks camp definitely getting a deal done quicker than most are expecting.

Dak doesn’t consistently make the playoffs or have a Super Bowl trophy.

Dak has more playoff appearances and the same number of championships in his first 5 seasons, then either Brees or Rodgers did.........

What do you think is consistent getting to the playoffs?

Drew Brees was considered elite years before and went 3 straight years of 7-9 with no playoffs. Not sure if that's considered consistent in your opinion

Yes. And Dak has been to the playoffs 50% of the seasons he finished.

He has not just made the playoffs but reached the divisional round 50% of the seasons he has finished

let’s be real. If he doesn’t get hurt this year. He would have made the playoffs 3 out of 5 years.

all of this on a team where about 95% of the posters here would say has had poor coaching and a bad front office.

but yes. Let’s run him out of town.

Would love to see some examples here. I’ve got one, Tom Brady. Now your turn. Name an elite QB with this poor of a defense, average OL, underperforming RB, great receivers, and shoddy special teams play.

Rodgers? If you’re ok with playoff contention and that’s it.

Big Ben? Always had a stellar defense when they were perennial contenders.

Mahomes? He’s elite obviously but is Dak asking for a $100M?

Wilson? Always had a stellar defense when they were contenders.

Maybe I’m missing something and I’m not trying to be argumentative but when you say elite QBs carry their teams to the playoffs, I don’t see many sterling examples that are available to replace Dak.

I am not arguing Dak is as good as Rodgers or Brees in their primes. Brees is one of my favorite non cowboys players ever. I watched him play at Perdue as a kid, being that I grew up in Big 10 territory and have always followed the Big 10.

but if we are defining elite QB’s as QB’s who won championships and consistently made the playoffs their first 5 years in the league. Then neither Brees nor Rodgers are/were elite.

So no, he didn’t “consistently” make the playoffs. He missed the playoffs just as “consistently.”
