Connor Williams has been good at times, average some, and bad in games.

Next season will be his last year on his rookie deal.

If we could sign him to a team friendly deal, which we probably could, should we? I'm talking about you and me drafting an email to his agent with a proposed deal thrown in there with the subject line "Contract Extension".

Or should we let him walk and hope he returns us a comp pick for 2023?

I'm thinking he will most likely be headed to a new team after this season.

He just hasn't been the consistent player I hoped he would be, especially since he was a 2nd round pick.

Far from a bust though.

He played well for the most part last season. He still had some bad moments but I don't think he would cost much. Sign him and if anything he will be a solid backup or swing guy

Him along with 7 other players, mostly starters, are up for an extension this year. My guess is next year will be the last year for most of them. And I don't think Williams is too high on the list. These guys are probably going to be replaced by rookies over the next two years.

I'm guessing Gregory, and possibly LVE get extensions. Gallup either gets an extension or gets traded before next season. That's my guess.

Let him go and hope he can net us a 5th or better comp pick. We have other options already on the team and this upcoming draft we have a chance to add more cheap young talent to the oline with one of our i think 9 or 10 picks. How i feel about him is he is not as bad as we make him out to be, but he is not the answer to our long term problem that has been starting Left Guard. Hope he can find a new home that better suites his play style.

Perfect commentary on the player. Maybe we trade him after the draft, depending on our actions there.

I think his current value is late third round pick.

Teams find guys like him off the street on a regular basis. I wouldn't pay him. Get someone in the scouting department who can find some good offensive line players that don't cost top 50 picks.

First, I'd like to suggest to you that we actually have no leverage(or authority) to negotiate Connor Williams's contract extension with his agent. Likewise, "we" should work on understanding our lack of standing in Connor Williams's contract extension process and thus stop emailing his agent proposed deals. If we can do that I think we will have come a long way in overcoming our presumed authority with Connor Williams's career path.

Good convo! See you next week to discuss our progress.

If a veteran guard can be had for a bargain, or if a value pick presents itself on Day 2 of the draft, Dallas might add a new competitor to the mix.

This was about the most botched draft pick I could remember. Why on earth Jason Garrett would play this young man at Left Guard, going against guys who weight 55 more lbs than him was terrible. Garrett and his coaching decisions almost ruined this young mans career and gave him no shot!

that said, he got much better last year. He is obviously a hard worker. A cheap deal yes, but the best thing is to try him at one of the tackles and see how he does

They should try to get him extended asap to a sensible contract. They won't be able to afford him if they let his contract run out and try to sign him at the end of his R deal. There will be teams interested with cap space to pay a premium. They need to focus on getting a stud LT to replace Tyron within the next couple of years.

He started as a rookie. Won the position every year. No one has beaten him out. Let that sink in. He gets to the second level nicely. Usually good. No glaring holes in his game. Can play all 5 OL positions in a pinch.

Good player. Gives it his all. Never in trouble. Works hard. I would definitely re-sign him. Many teams would be interested if he hit the open market.

I never understood the Williams hate.

I think the Cowboys value him more than people on this board, he will probably get a second contract with the Cowboys

He’s UFA after this season.

2nd round pick. No 5th year option?

unless they work something out, he’s likely gone.

he wants $$$. Who doesn’t.
