I would love to see Williams finally get it but even if a FA or UDFA can push Williams off than I could see it, but he is still only 23 yrs old, really young and at 6'5" 320lbs he has everything in a bio your looking for, its just a bit early toHe played well for the most part last season. He still had some bad moments but I don't think he would cost much. Sign him and if anything he will be a solid backup or swing guy
I dont see anything that shows that this staff or the last one sees him as a tackle. If the team still sees Smith and Collins in their long term plans then I would let him walk
Thats fine, let him test the market someone will always pay for a former 2nd round OL.He’s UFA after this season.
2nd round pick. No 5th year option?
unless they work something out, he’s likely gone.
he wants $$$. Who doesn’t.
I think the Cowboys value him more than people on this board, he will probably get a second contract with the Cowboys

Look what the team chose to do last year at each T spot while never moving Williams.
That aside, IMO the best two guards on the team are Martin and McGovern.
Gotcha, and agree.Meant in terms of contracts moving forward.
I don't see a need to have 4+ second contracts on the offensive line. If both tackles aren't going to be cut/moved in the next few years then I would let C-Wills walk as the amount of money on the offensive line will only climb.
Well yes that can not be ignored. He is a Longhorn. That’s the reality.
whatever the coches decide..we have Mcgovern ready to take his place so id say after his deal is over we may simply need to move on, have bigger needs and the cap..Connor Williams has been good at times, average some, and bad in games.
Next season will be his last year on his rookie deal.
If we could sign him to a team friendly deal, which we probably could, should we? I'm talking about you and me drafting an email to his agent with a proposed deal thrown in there with the subject line "Contract Extension".
Or should we let him walk and hope he returns us a comp pick for 2023?
I'm thinking he will most likely be headed to a new team after this season.
He just hasn't been the consistent player I hoped he would be, especially since he was a 2nd round pick.
Far from a bust though.

We literally have his replacement on the roster right now. Dude even has the same first name.
Let Williams walk, let McGovern play the spot and draft a player in the mid-rounds in 2022 for competition/depth.

Nice for a backup, disappointment as a 2nd round pick to me. Should definitely be a starter but he just doesn't seem to have enough power/size. If he wants big money on next contract, he can walk IMO
