I agree with some of your points but I have a hard time judging Dak the beginning of last year. We were horrible in the first half and fell behind early. Then Dak would go nuts against soft D set ups with some nice comebacks. As I’ve repeated many times I like Dak and have stayed neutral. I’m just not sure how to judge those games.

The cowboys fell so far behind because the defense was on pace to be the worst in nfl history not because the offense couldn’t score points

This is a fallacy though. Look at the cowboys splits in points scored in the first half and second half.

the cowboys scored a good amount of points in the first half of games. Especially compared to the rest of the league.

it’s a fallacy that they didn’t score early in games.

they were behind because the defense was literally on pace to the the worst in NFL history

I disagree! We fell behind early with turnovers and bad play from everyone. We weren’t getting shut out but we had a lot of games early where we were airing it out a lot to comeback

Wilson already has sick WRs and a nice RB, while I consider him an upgrade I don't believe it would be a monumental difference. Then again I don't under rate Dak.

This is true. The Seahawks have great receivers. Lockett and metcalf are studs.

running backs are talented too.

their OL stinks for the most part though.

Turnovers played a part. That’s true.

But again look at first half scoring for the cowboys. Actually go back and look.

the cowboys fell behind because the defense was on pace to be the worst defense ever. Ever. In the history of the league.

the offense was scoring a decent amount of points.

there wouldn’t have been “massive” deficits if the defense would have been average.

As I said I’m a Dak fan but it’s disingenuous to act like Dak wasn’t part of falling in those holes. The D was horrible but he was turning her ball over too and giving offenses a short field vs a horrible D

if the price is 2 firsts and MAYBE a couple players...ie Jaylon Smith and Gallup. I do it.let Dak negotiate with them.

The whole team plays a part. But let’s assign blame accurately. You think Russell Wilson or any other QB doesn’t fall behind when their defense is the worst in league history? I mean honestly.

Dak wasn’t perfect. That’s the criticism. He wasnt perfect. Because he literally had to be to win those games given the defensive performance.

PASS... I want to blow this thing up and rebuild.

0% that happens

The defense will be rebuilt with a few returning guys like Lawrence, Gregory, LVE, Wilson and Diggs. But the offense isn’t changing much

Like I said and I’ll keep repeating so I’m not thrown into a “hater” group, Dak isn’t my issue..my issue though is judging how bad or good he is based on those games pre-injury. I felt like overall as a team we were uneven and some stats were late

What about last year when the defense was average and we still went 8-8? The same thing was happening this year with Dak that happened last year with this offense. Dak and the offense will feast on bottom of the barrel defenses while doing nothing against good to average defenses. The two good defense Dak faced this year (Rams and Giants) he did nothing.

This team lost 3 games last year that we held the opponents to 17 points or less. If our offense mustered any pulse in those games we have 11 wins and easily make the playoffs. All this without bringing up Dak throwing for ZERO TDs against the Sam Darnold fresh off mono Jets.

The reason I bring up last year is because that is with a healthy Dak and not a historically bad defense.

He and the Hawks been together 9 years. He's going into the 3rd year of his 5 year deal that actually that also the final year of guaranteed money. At 32 maybe BOTH he and the Seahawks are thinking a new start would be best. I'd love the trade if we can't get Dak signed but a straight-up player-for-player swap wouldn't be enough for me coz of age ( he's 32 and Dak's 27 ). Here's his contract.......certainly reasonable

Dallas needs to get Dak done ASAP or tell the Seahawks we want your guy.

If Stephen can’t get Dak done and not trade for one of the other superstar QBs who would love to have this talent, that will be the end of this franchise as America’s Team or ever being taken seriously by players/agents.

Russell Wilsons team can't overcome his contract and put enough around him..

Cowboyszones conclusion?

You gotta get Dak signed ASAP.

The defense wasn’t average. They were bottom 5 in forced turnovers. The most important defensive metric. They were also below average in most efficiency metrics.

This has been covered extensively. And I’m not turning this into a thread about Dak and the defense to rehash that same old tired argument.
