this times a hundred and the memories keep getting more in the distance pretty sad really the cowboys have pretty much become a bottom feeder franchise
We are the Browns and Lions but have a hard time accepting that. It is easy to sell ourselves that our team is better than it really is.

The sad thing is that some are prone to replace what the Cowboys once were with their popularity on TV, value of the team and must cover by the media.

The Dallas Cowboys are the most unusual team in sports history. They are most relevant in the business of pro football but in the game, they're really an also ran. It actually defies description and I bet all the talking heads that have to keep discussing the Cowboys more than the Chiefs or the Bucs don't get it anymore than I do.

Listening to sportshows, radio, Pat Macfee etc no one talks about top free agents like JJ Watt who want to win super bowl to end their career dont consider Cowboys as an option.
It is all about Tampa, Chiefs, Buffalo, Rams, Green Bay.
They are winning, the Cowboys aren't.
We have Green Bay's coach who built that team. And got run out of Green Bay on a rail
Running game better than everyone else. They were #31 in rushing yards in 2020 lol
Offensive line when healthy best in the league. "When healthy" is doing a lot of heavy lifting here haha
JJ Watt kind of a player on defense with Hot Boyz would change everything. Just a big LOL at using "Hot Boyz" as anything but a sad joke

Buffalo, Rams, and Green Bay have not won a superbowl recently

60 percent of your examples are just like the Cowboys

And maybe 80. How about you list the top free agents that helped the chiefs win 2 years ago

It's sad some fans are just figuring this out now.

1) Owner
2) Owners son
3) Culture
4) Coaching

You come to Dallas for the pay( over paid ) and entertainment spotlight. You go to those other organizations if you desire winning.

I mean let's break this down by possible motivations of free agents in 2021 specifically.

Winning: The Cowboys went 6-10. Their QB situation is up in the air. Elliott didn't even hit 1,000 yards rushing. They were #28 in scoring defense. The last time they mattered as a franchise one of the top songs on the charts was The Macarena.

Money: The Cowboys are projected to have just over $19m in cap space in 2021... but that's not counting whatever Prescott is paid. If he's tagged again that's $37.7m, meaning they need to shed cap space just to stay the same. Even if he gets a super lowball deal somehow the team is STILL in negative cap space. Even if they dump him and draft a QB, they are left in a mediocre space in terms of handing out big money.

Jerry really messed up big time paying Zeke, Tank, and Jaylon crazy money.

Buffalo: lost in AFC Championship game last season

Rams: went to Super Bowl a few seasons ago

Packers: won Super Bowl 10 years ago; were in NFC Championship game the last 4 of the last 7 seasons

Dallas Cowboys have not appeared in an NFC Championship game in over 25 years......so forgive me but the 3 teams listed above have been more successful than Dallas in quite some time.

Ok, list the top free agents greenbay had 10 years ago, and the ones the chiefs did when they won. I am not saying they didn't do that, but since it is the major arguement of the thread, they should be listed.

If if makes you feel better, I guess in those years Buffalo and the rams are better losers than the cowboys

JJ Watt was 6 years old the last time the Cowboys reached so much as a conference championship game.

Knowing that and looking at who continues to preside over the failure to this very day, no aging free agent with any sense would join the Cowboys. That's what made the Brady fantasies so ridiculous. He'd never come to Dallas.

You just listed possibly the top 5 teams in the league this past year.....and all of them are considered contenders next year
His time is short and he wants to win a title
That's why

I've been reading stuff like this from Cowboys fans for years. I don't know if it's wishful thinking or an inability to honestly assess where the team is in comparison to others.

Most of what you said is simply not true. Coaching...Zeke's suspension...the refs...injuries...all this team has now are excuses. The great Cowboys teams didn't need them.

1st of all we could easily be a top destination for free agents and most players demanding trades want to come here. The cowboys of recent don’t pay free agents, they just don’t spend. That’s an organizational choice which I agree with mostly but feel they have taken too far.

Occasionally you do have to open the wallet and spend on some quality. Stephen has chosen not to do so. Currently we aren’t viewed as a real contender so a player like watt whose demanding out of a middling team bc he wants to win can’t use us a destination when well.....we don’t win.

still think we are destination and a draw to players- we just don’t pony up the dough and don’t win

'cowboyblue22' - I would not put Dallas in the category of "bottom feeder franchise". Over the last 7 seasons - 4 winning records, 3 division titles resulting in playoff berths. The two losing seasons happened when the starting QB went down - Romo in week 2 in '15, Prescott in week 5 in '20.
3 divisional round playoff losses ---none were blowouts-- one score defecits or less each time. (one game from an NFC Championship appearance).
The frustrating part is when other NFC teams take playoff opportunities and make it through (Seahawks, Panthers, Falcons, Eagles, Rams, 49ers, Buccaneers).

Not every player is sick, lame, and lazy. Winning actually matters to some.
