It ain't getting done for a guy who needs a new contract and the #10 pick. It looks like a 25 mill or so cap hit if they trade him. So you make a trade and then have to sign a new guy? To a giant deal.

Given the signing bonus this would mean that Russ made over 100 mill dollars over the first two years of his current deal. I know they have a very rich ownership group but no GM is looking to drop another 60 million in bonus at a position that they just spent a ton on ... but they'd have to because there is no way they could afford to have Dak play on the tag.

I love Russ, but Dak is the undisputed team leader. You don't move those guys and expect things to go well.

Go ahead and take your victory lap when Seattle hasn’t traded him and Houston hasn’t traded Deshaun yet.

And if your argument is that Russell Wilson’s contract is what is holding Seattle back. Then I’ll just tell you you’re wrong and we can move forward from there.

Who cares if they get traded or not?

They're acknowledging what I say to be true..

I mean.. Why would they even think about trading an elite franchise QB? Once you have one you sign them and blah blah blah.

Goff & Wentz had to be signed.. You just gotta do it. You have no choice. You just gotta.

Straight swap. Those other teams can’t offer a young top 8 QB in the league for Wilson. With Dak, they can keep on competing. Every other team on the list, they’re starting over. Dak is more valuable than any picks those teams would give them.

Wilson is better. But he’s also older and unhappy. He has a no trade clause. The Saints, Raiders nor Bears can offer anything as good as Dak.

I don’t think you can get rid of Wilson and then turn around and pay Dak more then him.
Exactly what I was about to say.

They would need a third team that Dak would need to agree to go to, with that team and Dallas sending picks to Seattle.

I don't see how it at all works in getting Wilson to Dallas.

Who the hell cares?! Our offense was never the problem, there’s nothing Russell can do to compensate for our horrendous defense and whatever we had to give up would only make building the defense that much more difficult.

Giving up anything for a QB like Wilson would be a Jerry move which would equal a stupid move. He would bring the Cowboys more publicity and hype, a lot of fans would eat it up, and the results would be the same.

There is one, and only one, way to get me to budge from my "Dak Is The Answer Here" position.

And that would be to trade for Russell Wilson. Again, though, what is the cost and how can we fix the defense paying Wilson and probably giving up multiple high picks?

Jerry has to at least make the call to Seattle. Any responsible manager would do their due diligence for the betterment of the organization.

I would probably come to nothing. But you have to at the very least inquire about what it would take to do a deal.

Yeah.. Dak to Seattle makes no sense and they need to recover from Wilsons contract and the absolutely stupid trade they made for Adams.

Lol they’re not acknowledging anything about what you’ve said at all

You have zero insight whatsoever into the thought process of the Seahawks management.

there isn’t even any reporting that they DO in fact want to trade Russell. It’s all just media speculation at this point.

and yet here you are being arrogant once again, assuming that the Seattle GM all of a sudden reads catch 17’s posts and wants to do what you’ve been saying to do

So what you’re doing. Is being arrogant. Projecting your thought process onto others. Even though there is no knowledge of their actual though process. And then using that projection to argue how wise and right you are on a message board.

It’s rather annoying to be honest. And completely full of dookie.

Wilson is unhappy cause he isn't involved in making GM like decisions in Seattle. You guys do realize who our GM is right?

So? Russell is the only reason Seattle is even good.

why don’t you look up their draft history the last 8-9 years while you’re at it. Maybe that could provide as much insight into their issues as Russell’s contract figures.

I've got to agree.

The large problem here is QB salaries got WAY out of line somehow and teams are feeling it. It needs to be reeled in somehow and probably will be.

If Jerry feels like other owners feel the same, I can see how that is causing issue in the negotiations with Prescott.

I stopped bothering. The guy doesn't even admit he's wrong when he is. I pointed to Byron Jones being racked the worst starter in the league at his position last year, and he said "well that's someone's opinion" Then proceeded to leave out all the stats showing the exact same thing. Same guy also thought Beathard and Kaaya would be better than Mahomes and Watson!. So Take his "player evaluation" with a grain of salt.
