If he gets to 10, we should be running to the podium right after the Broncos pick and tell the Commish stay right here our pick is in.

I'm concerned that some may be concerned that he is a guard.

We can't afford to pass up a 10 year top LT at 10, but we also can't afford to end up with a guard.

Slater is the one more likely to get kicked inside. He's a T-Rex.

What's it going to be then, eh?

He was a supposed lock to go #2/3 overall, and a can't miss stud LT.

Suddenly, as the season ended and media mocks started to surface....he is now projected more often in the 8-12 range, even later in some cases.

He is behind Slater in many mocks.

Thoughts on what happened between December and now as far as his stock?
Nothing happened to him.

This is what happens in the draft process.

Player "stock" goes up and down.

I do believe he was sold too hard as a generational prospect.

That always will get backlash from goober draftniks who want to have receipts they were "right" if he busts.

At the end of the day, people need to trust their own eyes.

The only thing that will keep him going #2 overall is if the Jets take a QB.

I really don't want Slater at 10. But if Sewell fell to 10, then it gets interesting IMO.
Most if not all of us figured Lamb would never be there either.

Teams may figure on getting a very capable OT in the 2nd or 3rd and cause him to slide.

At this point, I'm not wild about drafting another OL high, but a ten year LT can't be passed on.....if that's indeed what he is.

He would play guard initially anyway which would force Williams and McGovern (2nd and 3rd round picks) to the bench....not sure of thats the best allocation of assets.

Meanwhile our biggest asset of the offseason wasnt used on defense yet again.

Its a tough call on this one, but I do think there's a real shot he is on the board at 10, and half a shot we pass on him.

If he falls to 10, which I highly doubt, but if did he better not make it to 11. I have him as the #1 prospect in this class.

Same. Only way I want an OL in Rd 1 right now is if he's a rare prospect like Sewell.

The upside on Sewell seems greater and he's a pure OT. I worry Slater ends up being an OK OT but a good OG and that's not something I want to use a Top 10 pick on (an OG) unless I was getting a total stud OG like a Quenton Nelson.

He looks like a drop back and pass every play LT. He’s solid in pass protection. I think you’re right what happened? The reason I like Slater is his run blocking (although he played at Northwestern). Slater looks like a beast and Sewell looks more finesse. Sewell is probably the safer pick, he’ll likely go before Slater, but you might move Slater to LG and have the better player for a run offense

If Sewell falls to 10, I would take him in a heartbeat. I think he will be a stud right or left tackle, but assuming Tyron and Collins are good to go this year, slide Sewell into left guard to replace Williams and the Great Wall of Dallas is back.

We aren't a run offense.

Sewell IMO is the 2nd best prospect in the draft. If he’s there at 10, you don’t get cute. Just select the player.

We can afford both. Could be Larry Allen type deal where he plays LG his first 1-2 seasons then kicks outside if we want to move on from Tyron.
