What would you give up for Wilson?

Interesting. Also more reasons why Seattle won't be trading him.
This sounds like a power play from Wilson. I just don't see Seattle trading him away. Makes for interesting conversation during a boring offseason though.

Your second sentence is spot on. Given the dead money Seattle would have to take, they'd likely have to be blown away in a trade.

It really is absurd that people think he would “instantly” make us playoff contenders when we’ve already had the number one offense once and a top 5 offense a couple times and yet we still sucked because we had no defense. Now they want to give up more draft picks thus further hindering any chance at improving our defense?! To gain what? The number one offense?

This seems like such a typical Jerry move I could actually see it happening. Jerry would bring more exposure and hype to the Cowboys, the likes of which they haven’t seen in years and a lot of fans would eat it up. Fast forward 5 years when we’ve only won one playoff game and Wilson is on the decline then those same fans, along with every other football fan and media personality, will be mocking Jerry and the Cowboys once again for being so dumb and trading a bunch of picks for a QB when they already had a top offense but then blew their shot at building a defense.

Here's my thinking.

You sign Dak, you are looking at cap hits in the high 20 millions this year and then cap hits in the 30s for the next few years.

If you could get Seattle to trade you Wilson for Dak and a couple of picks, your cap hits at the QB position are 19 million, 24 million and 27 million the next three years, significantly lower than Dak's most likely. So then I get a better QB (IMO) on smaller cap hits that allows me to spend more money on defense.

if no deal could be reached...i'd do a trade involving Dak and the 10th pick.
thats it.
no more players thrown in.
no more picks.
i ain't sean mcvay.

but if this team doesnt want to pay Dak....they won't like wilson's price any better.
its better to just get a deal done with Dak.

Does Wilson play defense? Use all the pics for the D.

What has Wilson won without an elite defense?
Most talking heads never mention this. That defense was one of the best top to bottom! This gave Russ so many more opportunities after the numerous three and outs by the boom! Still wasn't a ton of scoring. I do remember the interception at the 1yard line that everyone(media included) forgot about? In the Super Bowl! Blame Petes' call, fine.

What's the best offer you'd send to the Seahawks.

I like Dak a lot, but Wilson is a natural born winner. I'd give up the house for him. He can carry this team with a solid oline, Zeke, Cooper, Gallup and Lamb.

Nothing. Wilson is in the twilight of his career. Keep Dak who is almost as god and still has upside and work on building the defense. Do that and we can be in the next Super Bowl.

He’s 32 Shiela.

We just watched a 43 year old win the Super Bowl and beat a 37 year old in the Conference Championship game.

I thought of that but it would all come down to how many picks we gave up. We have too many areas of need on defense to fix through FA and 2nd/3rd round draft picks, we’re not even close.

Twilight? No reason to think you can't get 4-5 great years out of Wilson. And for three of them, you'd be eating up less cap space than you would with Dak which would get you more defensive help in FA.

Now, if the cost were like 3 #1s and a bunch of other stuff, that would make no sense.

Why give up the 1st round pic? When we can trade down, use all the pics on the D.
man we need good players, period..I agree. Just trade down a couple times and draft players...guys you know are hungry, high FB IQ. We can worry about where to play them later. We just need to stop getting too cute for our own good and need to just worry about production.

Get a better, cheaper QB where you can use the saved dollars in cap space to sign new defenders and keep your better ones under contract?

The cap savings alone would be a HUGE advantage to making a deal, especially if it involved just one #1 pick.

Disagree that Wilson makes this team better offensively. Having a Zeke show up & produce makes the offense better. Don't need Wilson for that.

CBS Sports had a crazy three team trade with the Raiders involved where we give up Dak, a 2022 first round and then like a 4th round pick.

I saw that. We lose a 1st in 2022 and getting back a 3rd this year and Russ. We have Dak so this should be just a swap IMO. Seattle wants picks though. Snyder screwed the pooch on that Adams trade.
