He makes a good argument even though he doesn't talk about what Dallas would have to give Seattle for Russ.

i would argue that the dead money hit & hoops Seattle would have to maneuver is the real reason it is unlikely.

besides, on the surface it appears to be a public communication between player and team. most likely option is that Seattle acknowledges they have failed to put an adequate Oline on the field and takes steps to appease their QB and help themselves win.

only way this goes further is if someone takes things real personal & this turns into a war of wills.
A deal like the one proposed is about as likely as winning the lottery
That said, if I was Dallas I’d take it in a heartbeat and I’m a fan of signing Dak today
But the savings is huge
There is one big problem with any deal for Wilson and that’s he’s always wanted a max deal. The only way you can make that deal is some kind of agreement that he will play out his contract and that’s hard to get done

I’m with you in that.

When I look at Russell’s resume it’s hard to not want to get him for your team. He’s notorious for making average players better. We likely run away with the division last season with Russ ... no knock on Dak at all.

It’s just hard for me to back what the projected ammo it takes to get him and not believe it sets us back
The CBS proposal I’d jump on but it’s not a likely deal to get done
Just straight up trade for Wilson would cost too many picks
Even if both players were even I’d make the deal because of the difference in money
But any deal for Wilson is like buying a scratch off
You get all excited but it’s mighty slim odds you win anything

I'm surely not going to be mad if we end up with Russel. 32 this year is not old for a QB, just mature. If Dallas gets six seasons out of him that would be awesome. he still would just be 37. How old is brady agin?..

Just don't want to delay fixing the other side for years or his service will be moot.

John Clayton just said on ESPN radio that he would be surprise if Wilson would be traded due to the cap hit. The cap hit would be 39 mil when his salary is 32 mil and Seattle is already up against the cap. Just FYI.

Anytime a player wants attention they throw out Cowboys in the conversation. Does anyone seriously think he is sincere about him wanting to come here?
Dear whipersnapper. As I read it, Wilson referenced several teams. Bliley! I guess in Chicago, some little kids are saying that players who want attention always mention Da Bears. But that is just fanboy arrogance. We are no longer a destination team. Our lustre is gone, laddie.
But thanks for responding. It is always nice to have input from kids.

I don’t think you can get rid of Wilson and then turn around and pay Dak more then him.

Bet you anything theyd rather have #1 overall than Dak and #10. Im honestly not sure Dak is tradeable at this point.

Cowboys are on every free agent’s radar bc it gets the media’s attention, helps with potential leverage

but in the last 10 years, how many big time FAs have actually come to Dallas?

TO is the biggest name I can think of and that was 15 years ago. Brandon Carr?

big time FAs don’t come to Dallas & Jerry prefers the FA bargain bin

Even if it's true, you think Jerry and Son would make a move this big? That's a bit north of the bargain bin.

Remember when Romo lovers would claim Russell was nothing more than a bus driver who couldn’t carry a team? Now he is much better than Romo ever was. Could they handle Wilson coming in and being the best QB since Aikman?

would not hate this

3 yrs left on his deal
Dallas would not be responsible for the signing bonus which is 39mil over the next 3 yrs.

2021 cap hit 19mil
2022 24mil
2023 27mil

he would be 35 when that deal would be done. depending on his production could get another deal or just let him walk
