Of course. Then they will drag out the extension until the final minute
There is no extension to drag out. Prescott is not under contract.
Negotiations are for a brand new deal. Cowboys have 9 days to the hour = March 9th 4PM EDT to get an agreement done --- then it will be tag time.

Dak's is a leader on & off the field, so it would send a terrible message to the league that the Cowboys don’t treat their player’s right, especially ones who are great in the community.

Imagine what message it would send to players throughout the NFL if Jerry & Stephen can’t get their most important player signed for three offseasons in a row.

Haha.....I taught HS English for 37 years. Sorry, but I said my guess (current) is 100% better than Sturm’s (which had already passed its deadline) was.

This is not about language its about logic.

When you say "Sturm's was" that means you compare your (current) guess to a time Sturm made his. At that time his deadline did not pass. So yours cant be 100% better than his. It has exactly the same possibility to happen.

But if you want to compare yours to the state Sturm's has now (and thats what you are trying to do). You have to compare it to the present state of Sturm's. And thats why yours IS 100% better than Sturm's IS (right now).

I have a hunch, he is Franchise-Tagged and walks after 2021.

unless they fix the oline too his chances of walking after next year go down....and they can’t do that without getting him under contract at a reasonable price

I don't see it. Why do that? I can see tag and trade, but not tag and play. What's the difference between Dak at 37.7 million for one year and Ryan Fitzpatrick at 10 million for one year? The answer is 27.7 million. What I am trying to say is, if a QB is going to be here for one more year, why are you going to pay him 37.7 million? We're not winning anything next year.

You know, if the Cowboys can't come to terms with Dak, it's going to be a major issue just tagging him. They have to create 20 million in space. Restructures on probably some players you may not want to be giving future guarantees. And for what? To trade him? To play him one more year? The team pays for everything it does to gain cap space. They pay down the road. Do you really want to give Zeke more guaranteed money to restructure? Or any other player not producing or kind of on their way out?

My grammar is correct. Your argument makes zero sense. Check the dates. When I created this thread, Sturm’s guess had indeed passed and people were making fun of him that original thread. Clearly, you aren’t going to back track, so I’ll drop it here, but your grammar statement was and is 100% incorrect.

If Dak wants to sign a 5 year deal it could be had tomorrow. Dak and France only wants 3 years which Jerry and Stephen should never do. They have to manage the cap and the team for the long term benefit
of the franchise. Besides, some teams like NE never overpays players and they don't have too much trouble getting players on their roster. Right?

when the agent becomes the story/stumbling block, its time to fire said agent..in any line of work.

Haha...

".. you drop it here but have to add another sentence that you are right and i am wrong."

I know that you created your thread after Sturms guess had past. Why would i even tell you your wording is wrong if i werent aware of this?
Seriously i cant help if you cant follow my logic. But to say i am wrong just because you dont understand what i explained seems a bit lame.

I'm just tired of hearing about it....NEVER in the history of the NFL has such an AVERAGE QB's contract been discussed so much....just sign him or cut his azz!!! Does it really manner anyway....until Booger and Chuckles are pushing up daisies, there will be no more NFC Championship games or Super Bowls....that is fact.
