if u donthave qb in this league u are not going ot win no matter howmany draft picks u have

There has been more no QB teams win Superbowls then there has been Tier 3/4 QBs making Tier 1 money winning a championship.

Nailed what? Fantasyland? :muttley:

No one is trading 2 first round picks so they can pay Dak $40 million/year.

The Cowboys can tag him, give him what he wants, or let him walk.
Yeah I don’t get the question being asked it’s not even a possibility. It’s like asking would I rather have Bill Bellicheat or Mike McCarthy.....it’s a question that’s not even possible.

a ton of cap space to take advantage of the unprecedented free agent opportunities that will be available this year

or Dak on a short term deal at 40 per?

It's easy for me.
...because you are a football idiot that doesn't appreciate Dak for the top-tier QB he is and how much of a disadvantage it is to not have a top-tier QB on your roster.

Please cite what team will give two first round picks for Dak.

If you understand the mechanics of this premise, then you will understand you have misled the public with this thread.

*Dak's injury - is he healed or forever scarred either by being gimpy or having what we refer to as Wentz Mental Disorder? What team wants to take that chance?
*Dak agreeing to a contract for trade purposes - why would he not use his leverage to dictate which team you trade him to? The nano-second Dallas goes to him with this idea, he has all the power to nix it.
*Name the team that will give two firsts.
*Name the team that will give two firsts, this year. Getting firsts down the road does nothing for replacing Dak with anyone of note. You now wasted a year on the contract of Coop, Zeke, Gallup - who becomes a FA - Lamb and anything you get in the draft or FA.
*What is the residual cap hit to the Cowboys for this sign and trade? Is there anyone here that truly thinks the team trading for Dak will not push off some of the contract on Dallas?
*What team would allow Jerry to negotiate a contract with Dak that reaches in to the trading team's wallet? If Jerry can't get it done for his team, why would Dak not up the demand by three million or so? And what team is going to make Dak the highest paid player in the NFL, because that was the best Jerry could do in negotiations?

The simplistic idea you can just go to the trade store, get Dak to agree, and make this happen is MADDEN, and maddening for those who apply critical thinking.

Why would your trade partner not just wait Dallas out?
Why would Dak agree to any trade unless it was to a team that just needed a QB to get to the Championship game?
If Dak is worth two firsts to another team, he should be worth two firsts to Dallas. This problem arose because Jerry couldn't pick a race between Secretariat and a plow horse. This was created because Jerry insulted Dak with a low ball offer after giving Zeke too much money. And Dak's agent, who has fomented this distrust of Dallas in the mind of Dak, and is also trying to make a name for himself as an agent who just went solo, will bend Jerry over on any deal to make this happen, with the caveat of a three year deal to hit FA again for his boy.

Put down the game controller and wash your hands before dinner. Be sure to eat your vegetables.

I assume he is referring to the non exclusive franchise tag, which would let other teams negotiate with Dak. If a team offered Dak a contract and the Cowboys didn't match, then the Cowboys get two 1st round picks as compensation.

im confused what makes anyone think this front office would spend all this new found money on big time, top shelf free agents.
they will do what they always do.
go bargin shoping at the free agent dollar store.
I agree with this, as far as Dallas changing their FA habits. Outside of Deion Sanders and Leroy Glover, I can't think of too many high profile FA pickups. Well Carr, and Leonard Davis, they come to mind. But other than that I can't think of too many splashes in FA.

What I would want is the draft picks. Miami would be an attractive suitor, they have 3 draft picks in the first 60 picks. That would be interesting.

I agree with some of the "sign Dak" crowd that even if we did have salary cap room that doesn't mean the Jones will use it wisely or use it all. I disagree with the notion that we can drastically improve the defense with just this upcoming draft. We're going to have to draft some offensive players as well, especially linemen if Collins and Tyron are done.

We'd have to hit on every single pick and every pick would have to be a starter if we tried to fix the defense in this draft. And if we take 2-3 drafts to fix the defense then the defense will be in good shape but the offense will start showing their age.

If we sign Dak to 40-44 million APY, the 2 most important players on the team are trysten Hill and Gallimore. Well McCoy too, so 3 most important players. If Hill and Gallimore step up and into quality starters then DLaw has one end and Gregory has the other. Then we can draft DBs to go along with Diggs. Our linebackers will continue to suck but we're used to that. If we can get quality starters out if McCoy, Gallimore and Hill then the defensive line is adequate, draft secondary and with an improved line and DBs the linebackers will not be exposed as bad.

So I guess if I think unemotionally I can see a way we can improve if we sign Dak. Hill, Gallimore and McCoy are the key.

I don't know if this a pro Dak post or an anti Dak post, I guess it's me thinking outloud about a positive outcome for next season.

I’ve asked several of you Dak hating clowns this question and no one has answered yet. Maybe you’ll have the balls to do it but I seriously doubt it.

If Dak sucks so much then why has the NFL rated him the #1 Free Agent in the entire NFL in 2021?

The press is controlled by the agents.

If you get rid of Dak and draft a quarterback there is a great chance the quarterback will not be as good as Dak going into his fifth year. Some fans want the Cowboys to build the defense through free agency and the draft. At best we could be Washington who finished 7-9 and still looking for a franchise quarterback. The Cowboys should just blow it up and have a full rebuild.
