Starting to see story circulating about Dak possibly not being 100% at start of season.

There is no actual source in that article. Just someone speculating that it is a possibility Dak won't be 100%. Someone writing that here on CZ has basically the same validity.

You didn't get what I was referring to. I was referring to those that think that the Cowboys have to either sign Prescott to a long term contract or tag him by March 9th but if they tag him he will be gone after the 2021 season. That's why I brought up Lawrence getting tagged a 2nd time and said it doesn't have to be an either or by March 9th. It has to be either or by July 15th if they end up tagging him.

Never seen ANYONE say that he wants o be paid like Mahomes, some BS.. He wanted to be near. It's OK to shoot for a target in negotiations, but if Jerry is under what Dak's camp will settle for and they won't bargain and Jerrry won't move either, both parties are stubborn. Knowing when to play chicken, one party has to either flinch or it's gonna end bad. Yeah, stubborn. Both sides. I'll say this. Dak and his camp are ffin around with a Billionaire that usually gets his way. So..we'll see how it goes.

Actually, over the 4 year span that Dak wants his contract to cover—which is all that matters here— Mahomes will make much less than 40.

I agree. I feel with him working out at the team facility. I think he will get signed to a 4 year 170 million deal. Not saying I want that to happen but that's my feeling.

March 9th is meaningless. It just means the Cowboys will be forced to comply with the arbitrary tag deadline. That doesn't mean that is Dak's destiny in 2021. He may just yet get a long-term deal done with the Cowboys in the coming months.

My thinking also....... one thing for sure, it's going down to the wire but correct me if I'm wrong. They can franchise Dak on March 9 and still have until March 17th to get under the cap. If I'm right, they can do it and continue working out the kinks by the 17th. Someone mentioned in another thread, DLaw was tagged a 2nd time but signed his long-term deal 10 days later. Not saying this is happening but something to maybe keep an eye on.
