Bruh, you really stretching for numbers. I mean you tried the 3-1 angle and a win after the loss to the Cowboys, now you are here. The Vikings averaged 20 points per game and the Bears 17. The Lions averaged 21. But they soundly beat that margin playing the awful Packers defense, who were allowing 400 plus yards.

It’s like me saying the Falcons put up 44 points against a Packers. The Falcons put up 24 in one half, holding the Packers to 0, until the third quarter. The Falcons defense was 27th in the league, way worse than Dallas. The Packers were 21.

So yeah, the Packers sucked and how come it was 28-13 going into the 4th against such a horrible defense? I mean the Packers only put up 6 in the fourth.

So why didn’t the FIFTH rank scoring offense at HOME put up more than that, instead of having to play major catch up in the fourth, against soft defense. And BTW, Dak threw an INT in the third from the GB 19 yard line, when Zeke was running like a mad dog, including a 22 yard run to initiate that drive.
This post is so wrong.

you must be an Eagles or Romo fan.

Dak is the most talented quarterback we’ve had since Roger. He’s as accurate as Aikman with a MUCH better feel for the pocket than Romo. Plus teammates like him.

Welp, 4 straight super bowls coming. Oh wait, they still don't have a defense. At least Dak finally got paid. Now all we need to know is what will be left to build around him.

I'm guessing there won't be much, if any at all.
This years cap hit wont be too bad, but after that it will. Jerry is a bad gambler. He put all his chips on winning now, but the Cowboys will still be the same.

You didn't read the post I was referring to.

Yes I did ...... And it's stupid to think this contract will stop us from building a defense ..... It's been 25 years since we have won a superbowl ...... Dak and his contract is not what is keeping us out of a superbowl ...... It's Jerry Jones and his idiot son and their inability to hire coaches and front office people who are not yes men.

You are the biggest babbler I've ever seen. Still giving no positions at all besides Romo slobbing. It seems you just hate everything, hate all that is going on with the Cowboys but you ultimately just loved Romo at all cost of reason and Romo should still be the Cowboys QB. Ok I get it, we get it....go forth and conquer, sit over there with "your precious" Romo.. Oh BTW. I liked Romo too but sometimes you gotta turn the page. Offer up other solutions or ****.....

Romo was the definition of mediocre

Brady
Manning
Brees
Eli Manning
Phillip Rivers
Wilson
Farve
Rodgers
Mcnabb
McNair
Big Ben
Kurt Warner
Carson Palmer
Luck
Vick

ALL better quarterbacks than Romo who played in the same era. He’s a glorified Andy Dalton.

If we were just going to give him 40 mil what was the holdup
According to a few media guys it was a no tag clause Dak wanted in the deal. Fish had even said that it may have even been the deal breaker at the deadline last year

Money wise, Dallas really hurt themselves signing him after Watson got extended and not before. The AAV at the deadline was supposedly in the 35 range with 110 guaranteed

Hindsight is always 20/20. But if he was signed 2 years ago that would mean when he was a free agent after 2022 it would be even a more inflated QB market to pay him. Maybe even 55 million a season by then? So if they signed him to a 4 year deal 2 years ago for 32 million a season that's 128 million over 4 years and then another 110 million for 2 additional years under a new contract. Bringing the grand total up to 238 million for the same 6 years under contract. Now lets compare the new contract of 4 years at 40 million plus factor in his prior 2 years of pay. That's 160 million + his 31.4 million salary in 2020 and 2.2 million in 2019 bringing the total to 193.6 million for 6 years.

The point is everyone likes to point out waiting being a big mistake by looking just at the dollar difference of a 4 year contract now vs then, but doesn't consider the other factors. Only way there would be a huge difference is if Dak was more open to a longer term contract 2 years ago. Then I would say we missed the boat if we could have gotten Dak 2 years ago to agree to a 5 to 7 year deal. Was anyone 100% sold on him back then though?

I don't hate Romo at all. We lucked into that dude after 10+ years of insanity but people who are still defending him at the expense of Dak are morons. I see so many teams that have had terrible QB's for decades. I'm happy we can start working on the defense finally. Just my .02.

It's kinda sad that so many people are happy for a rich guy becoming more rich while basically destroying their favorite teams chances of truly competing in the playoffs.
How about being happy that a person that has spent his entire life working hard to reach the level he is at getting what he deserved.

People think these guys fall out of the womb elite athletes

I'm not so sure this is accurate.
The league would not allow a contract to be created where it auto voids and allows teams to cheat the salary cap.
Is this sarcasm? Lol Im not good at reading that sometimes.
