Now that Dak has been paid we better not hear a dam thing about where was Zeke! Dak wants to get paid like the elite guys than he better perform and carry the team at times.
Sorry, not happening

The Cowboys and Dak are both winners. Cowboys have Dak under control for four years. Dak gets 126 million guaranteed. That is like 30 million a season. If he is successful the Cowboys will renegotiate his contract to keep the numbers down. If he fails they will move on in four years with minimal damage. It’s a good day to be a Cowboy fan. Let’s enjoy it.:flagwave::grin::clap:

The cowboys were 6-10 last season, that is not a “winners” record. Dak was 2-3 before a season ending injury.....I’m missing the “winners” part again.

@CATCH17 Here you go buddy. Ill save you the math. And then you can go cry in the corner. If and when we get to the promised land. I dont want to see any cheering, any comments or anything from you. As you dont deserve to call yourself a fan when we win.

Cowboys and Dak agree on new contract

Sounds like the Cowboys were the ones who agreed and Dak freakin' fleeced them. A no trade clause too? This is beyond stupid. The only slightly good news is they added the two voidable years to the deal to stretch the signing bonus over 6 years.

I like Dak and was hoping he would be back, but this is a bad, bad contract.

I don’t get this.

You just signed your franchise QB to go with a loaded offense. Team loves him, city loves him. We now have CAP room to sign a few starters.

This is best case and then some.
You have to understand poor guy still has his Romo poster and has been butt hurt for 5 years.

he will now critique every throw every loss as Prescott’s fault .

what the cowboys need to do is fix the side they have ignored for years

Not to pile on our newly minted quarterback but I have serious doubts about Dak in a critical juncture of a big game. Say there is a minute and change left on the clock. They’ve got one timeout left. 80 yards to go. I don’t think Dak is that guy to lead a team to pay dirt. He is so risk averse he throws way too many 5 yard passes. And before you know it it’s 4th and long.

I just don’t see him as a game changer.

Thing is they just paid him as one.
So with your scenario and LT holds on 1 play. The LG gets pummeled and Dak has literally no time still Daks fault?

Or better yet Dak scores but leaves too much time in clock and defense folds like a cheap suit still Daks fault?

Gotta admit....when Jerry caves in.....he just doesn't give a little....he let's you have it all.

Garrett must have left Dak the bathroom stall photos......

And I thought the Romo contract was horrid....

Welp....looks like it's time to find a new team. You can all have America's dumpster fire. Because this was the final straw. Jerry caved in on so many levels.....He's beyond compromised now.
Bye!!!!!!

Catch17 and many others realize that Jerry just made another decision that will keep the a Cowboys from reaching a Super Bowl in the coming years. If I had any confidence in getting paid, I would bet every Dak lover that the Cowboys will not get to the Super Bowl as long as Dak is the starting QB in Dallas.

Only in Dallas are they excited about paying a mediocre QB like he is elite. And as far as Dak only counting 22 mil a year don't worry the money will catch up to this team.
You mean its going to catch up when the new cap is in place and the Disney deal is done? Who cares? lol

Even if you are a Dak fan this deal should irritate you. 2 years ago if they just give Dak what his agent was asking they save a ton of money compared to now because there have been 2 waves of QB contract inflation since then.

You can't play at Bill Belichick style tough guy GM and then panic surrender at the end, it's the worst of all possible worlds. Just folding to the opposing agent on day 1 of extension eligibility under the CBA is way cheaper and the player is happier.

so now 4 players eat 95 mil a year avg out of the 185 mil , so that leaves 90 mil for all the other guy's lol.
I wonder if they (rest of the team) are smart enough to realize they just got screwed.

The tweet said dak is getting most of this in the first 3 years, and 66 mil the first year ! lol this is so funny!:D
So it is more than 40 mil a year and it isnt back-ended , so no help cap wise.
And the 66 mil is this year with the low cap!
Part of that may be signing bonus which can be pushed back or spread over the 4 years.

Seems like it would have been cheaper to just pay for the tags.

Jerry likes his guys = Jerry likes his star players, and screw the rest of the team lol.

I guess at the PC dak will tell us SB's are coming??
2021 $22.2m cap hit
2022 $33,2m cap hit
2023 44.2m cap hit
2024 47.2m cap hit
Data from sportrac
This contract actually gives us $15m in space this year compared to the tag, gets pricey year 3, but maybe We can restructure or extend, We can get out without excessive capageddon after year 3.
