Wilsons at least taken his team without a defense into the playoffs. Daks been stuck on 8-8. The two times he went he had a top 10 defense and managed to muster up 1 win.

so really the question should be, what the hell has Dak done? Like ever?
Won a playoff game head to head against Wilson.

he is stats prescott ! he is a champion of stats lol.

meanwhile none of those 3 have even made it to a SB ! lol
(Brees and Rodgers have at least been to nfc champ games and lost, but dak cant get past the div round.)

and Brady has won 3 SB's in that time period ! lol

Some guys win SB's and some guys win stat championships!

Brady cost TB 25 mil a year, dak costs dallas 40 mil a year.
Draw your own conclusions to these tidbits

A QB is only 1 player playing 1 position....You act like he’s the sole reason why a team wins or loses a game...C’mon man!! He doesn’t play receiver or running back....hell he doesn’t play any position on defense!! Get real...QB’s that win Super Bowls don’t do it all by themselves....That’s Why It’s Called A TEAM SPORT!!.....Cause it takes more than 1 person to play the damn game....and it takes more than 1 person to win a damn game.....C’mon man you know that....Quit talking like football is a 1 man sport and the QB is responsible for winning or losing every game....

What makes Russell Wilson and Deshaun Watson great but Dak is "good"? I never understood it.

A ring and 2 SB appearances with key moments put Wilson there. He’s had no line and no D for 2+ years.
D Watson is on probably the most mismanaged team in football and has still singlehandedly won games.....even when they gutted to offense around him.

I never forget the infamous line by Colin Coward after Dak FIRST NFL game........Jimmy Garrapollo is a franchise quarterback Dak Prescott is not. Coward used all of ONE game as his sample size and since then I don't put much stock into anything he says.
Colin never brings that up anymore does he? lol..Dude is the worst kind of "journalist" ...he flat out lies for ratings. Not much better than Skip or Stephen A Smith.

Jimmy G is 3 years away basically from being out of the NFL. San Fran wants to replace him already after giving up premium picks not that long ago. TELLING. The Bias against Jerry Jones and the Cowboys is sickening in the media. Thats where the Dak hate comes from.NE will probably trade a 5th for him to see if they can fix him and if they can't we wont hear from him ever again.

I agree, but jerry likes ewok, and he already paid him and has pollard for fill in role, so they wont draft any rb's
I'm willing to bet that Zeke will be bad this year we will be searching for a RB during the trade deadline lol..Outside of pollard, I dont see anyone on the roster I would play. Hes not an every down guy. Neither is Zeke these days.We need to be having this conversation I THINK.

When the FO cannot tell the difference between good and great, they will continue to pay great for good. This is nothing new. It is the reason what they are what they are.

The evaluation of talent and pricing of that talent is the Achilles Heel of this franchise and I do not see that changing.
So true. Jerry has never been able to realize that he doesn’t know how to evaluate talent, yet his ego leads to foolish deals ad nauseum. Jerry needs a “no cap” organization where he can overspend and get away with it.

Just that one game alone out of 5 seasons is worthy of 40 million? I would be more onboard with his ridiculous contract if he had at least made it to a conference championship. But that hasn't happened, and probably won't for at least another 4-6 years.

....That’s Why It’s Called A TEAM SPORT!!.....Cause it takes more than 1 person to play the damn game....and it takes more than 1 person to win a damn game.....

You're right. But what happens when most of your money is tied up into one person? Dak and his fans just hit the jackpot, but what about the rest of the TEAM?

I can already hear the excuses pouring in when Dallas misses the playoffs next season or gets knocked out in the wildcard round, 'Jerry failed to get Dak a good defense'. What they will ignore is one simple thing - why the puck was Jerry unable to help the defense get better? Anyone who can't answer that question is a Dak fan first, not a Cowboys fan.

2 reactions from Colin, Positive & Realistic

Hey @Rockport watch this video!! Cowherd stole my thought process over the past two years.
Don't pay good players great player money.
Only a low iq owner and organization makes Dak the highest paid player in the league. He will never be worth that contract period Full stop.
This is not a dollars discussion, it never has been. We as fans don't care what a player makes. The concern is being smart with your cap and building a successful organization.
Let' see what happens.

Another 25 years of futility to go. If there's still an NFL in a decade, that is.
You got it. 26 years of not even getting past the 2nd round. Please take a moment to think about that.........
We are America's team? Really?
We just paid a guy 40 per year who makes errant throws even when he is on. Fear of losing out on an 8-8 record is what made Jerry pay him.
Jerry you are 78/79, you will not win a SB if you had paid him or if you did not pay him. This draft had many QB's. Our real chance was to put the transition tag on him and also like I suggested tank once he got hurt. Imagine a Justin Herbert type falling to us..... That changes the dynamic of your team for a decade.

I saw a good meme yesterday that went something like this:

Tom Brady: Signs team friendly deal so team can get and keep talent around him.
Other QBs: Try and get every single cent they can get out of their team.
Tom Brady: Goes to and wins more Super Bowls.
Other QBs: I have no idea how he does it.

Someone is going to say that Brady has a wealthy wife and doesn't need the money. Just wait for it.....

By the way, he wasn't married to her the first 10 years of his career, so what was the excuse when he was taking team friendly contracts back then?

Country club organization making country club moves. That is all this is.
Agreed.
Just think about it. You own a 6 billion dollar company buy you run it like a mom and pop shop.
If Jerry actually cared about winning, after Jimmy got fired he would have screwed up for a few years like he did and learned his lesson. But Jerry is so hard headed its been a quarter century and he is still wasting it all away.
Hire a top of the line GM, hire boardrooms full of analytics guys and gals, hire the best scouting division in all of the NFL. Money is no object for him. He purchased the team for 150 million they are worth almost 6 billion... There are 1000 millions in one billion. Money does not matter. Jerry does not care about SB's. I could yell this all day and some fans wont get it.

Here you go @Rockport ... Tad or whoever you are. Your boy Dak... Superstar
Let's add to that by pointing out what bothers me most about the last two years......

We lost 3 games last year when our defense held the opponents to 17 points or less. If we win those game we easily go to the playoffs at 11-5.

Also, if Dak wasn't out dueled by fresh off missing games due to mono Sam Darnold and the Jets we go 12-4.

Dak was only a "winner" when Zeke and the O-line ran the show.

you're right, some just spout off, I guess it makes them feel good
If some people really don't like it and want to get it off their chest, why not just let them? Does it really bother you that much to go to the lengths you do to prove a point? If you ignored it, I doubt it would turn into what it always does on this board.

I'm not a fan of the signing, but so what. It's not my money and the Cowboys did what they thought was best. Contrary to what many believe on here, the franchise knows more about football than all the armchair GM's on here.
But again, it's a message board for people to give their opinions.

All I can do is to hope Dak proves me wrong and help get this team back to greatness. But it doesn't consume me like it once did. What's gonna happen is gonna happen.

That's always the go to when talking about Brady "But his wife is rich too!"

Maybe Brady also know that what he can do with like 28 million a year plus all his endorsement money is more then enough to do whatever he wants for the rest of his life as well as set up future generations of his family.

There is no world where any player should be making more money then Brady, but countless are, and they will continue to wonder why Brady can win all the time and they can't get over the hump.

If Washington acquire a good QB through the draft then I think they will be the team to beat in the NFC
No question.

That front 7 is as good as anyone's in my opinion. If they can keep it together, and like you said, bit a QB, they are gonna be good for a long time.

And it really sucks because I'm a native Texan living 30 miles outside DC.
