Apparently, they were making $5B per year in the last deal. This one is worth $9B per year. Don’t the revenues have to be split equally between players and owners? If so, that’s an extra $2B/32 franchises which means $60M that could potentially be added to the salary cap.
I don’t know about “equally” but it is shared.

Completely outdated. The last gasp from failing cable channels while Amazon gets in on the action, which is HOPEFULLY a step in the right direction for streaming.

Think it is 53% to owners, 47% to players.

The cap is going to go insane.

We should expect the cap to top $300mn by 2025 now.

Think its also slated to go to 47.5 to 48% as well due to the new CBA. Offsetting the 30 million in borrowed cap over the next 4 years will be trivial compared to the increases that are about to happen

All the handwringing over 10% more in Dak's contract is shown to have been absurd. Looks like TV deals are what, a 70% increase?

Anyone recalculate future cap based on these numbers?

Similarly, I thought Lewis' contract looked a little pricey. Now, meh.

For all the moaners and groaners about the contracts Jerry been handing out, including me, with a 70% wage rate increase, they're not looking so bad anymore, are they?

This is what I expected when Jerry was signing up everyone long term. *He* knew this was coming, so was locking in seemingly expensive contracts before the numbers came out.

No mention of Sunday NFL Ticket. I guess they are still working on that deal with ESPN.

Now, all that remains is to get the restrictions lifted on online betting and it will be complete. Track it and tax it. Should already be doing this.

wonder what the salary cap is going to be next year....not that we'll take advantage of it lol

I think we already have been since 2019. Jerry would know better than most anyone what the new contracts were likely to be. So he signed a bunch of players for *maybe* too much, and now they're looking like good deals.

Got Dak in under the wire. Huge. Masterful.

Jerry knowing this was coming out likely explains the pricey contract for Lewis too.

Does anyone see anything on Monday flex rules?

Makes a huge difference if traveling to a game.
Not out yet but that shouldn't be any different than a SNF game. ESPN had to pay a little extra to get that. They can save a little by getting rid of 1 of the 3 voices, I vote for Riddick.

People like to point to just the ratings.
They fail to account for the fact that TV ratings across the board are down due to steaming and other factors. The NFL’s market share of viewers is as strong as ever.
And as these new deals show. The NFL is going to be getting into the streaming game. So people who “cut the cord” on cable can stream games through Amazon, ESPN+, peacock, etc.

IMO, the league just robbed the networks. They couldn't get ratings for Mahomes v. Brady in the Super Bowl. They've alienated a lot of fans who aren't coming back. Core fans.

Bad news.

Making plans to travel to a Sunday game then having it moved from say 425 to 820 isn't terrible....but moved to Monday night is a major difference.

Jerry is slowly making me not want to do it anyway lol.
