Exactly how have we gotten better from last year?

We will only get better this year if Dak stays healthy and plays all 16 games and we draft well next month. If those two outcomes don't happen we will sink to the bottom of the
division and wallow.

I understand their philosophy of not wanting to overspend but this roster needs some serious remodeling. I thought with the Dak contract out of the way, they could focus on making this roster more balanced

If anything, this team seems worse than last year
Actually signing Dak is a very good thing. This will allow the offense to get together sooner and be free of Dak's contract drama. This offense is going to need all the help it can get because they are going to have to carry the team with our horrible D.

How is it worse? Are you comparing to the Week 1 roster? That was week 1 just fyi. Long time since then, a whole season was played.

Where do I begin?

Offense:

QB: Dak instead of Dalton, Denucci, Gilbertr

Oline: Martin, Collins, Smith back...............Williams not coming off ACL injury, McGovern healthy in his 3rd season with a year experience playing, Biadasz in his 2nd season after getting some starting experience

WR: Lamb in his 2nd year getting more comfortable with Dak and the offense

TE: Get Blake Jarwin back from injury

Defense:

Coaching: Nolan was fired and Quinn was hired

Diggs and Gallimore in their 2nd years after looking good and getting great experience

Wilson will be better after getting an entire year of experience

Draft: Top 10 pick in each round and an extra 3rd and 4th comp pick

FA: Not done yet.

I would also add to this great post... another year with a new coaching staff... an offseason, training camp, etc.

Rookies...

So every year our upgrade is rookies..

Which is why we never get anywhere.

a fully healthy team that were favorite's to win the decsions back for this year is leaps and bounds better then the roster that played most of the game..how can you be so blind and dismiss the fact that we basically fielded a 3rd string team most of the games last year. Seriously..

yes the D needs an overhaul but Quinn will use better scheme and will truly fit scheme to layer vs what nolan did the first 10 games and it improved bit late last year..

full year of gregory, hill, experienced did back who also missed games , the injures killed the season and we finished 6-10 horrible right? yet WFT played a lot of bad teams in the division mostly due to injury and only finished a game better 7-9 wOW they be SB ready lmao..tells me heathy roster is advantage Cowboys..

lastly the offseason just began Monday umm how about there lots of time to build the roster..jeez oh wait the draft as well..smh..

Booger will point to Prescott being back, a healthy Big Smitty and Collins, Lamb's second year and Quinn as DC. They will also make sure the rookies get spins out of any OTA's and camp.

He will also mention the winner of the East was 7-9, one game better than the Cowboys and whether he mentions it or not, there is no way he doesn't think they win the East with Prescott healthy and I happen to agree with that. They wouldn't do much more than that but they would have done that.

What he won't try and sell is just how abysmal the East is and that he's the only one with a top 10 QB.

It's only March 18th. The Cowboys don't need to be better until the season opener.

My goodness FA is only a couple days old and the draft is 6 weeks away.
But it's this front office that just flat out sick at getting talent. Look at the 2017 draft, it's a joke

Lots of guys getting healthy. Big haul on draft picks coming. Lots of dead money from last year freed up.

The mistake I see is not extending Gregory before the new TV deal numbers came out.

Well Dak was healthy the year before and we went 8-8. So we getting back injured players who carried us to 8-8 in weakest division.
