Exactly how have we gotten better from last year?

I don't know what's wrong with you guys. You were supposed to be happy when Jerry signed Dak.

That was his plan to hook you in!

You are exactly right. The team was very bad before the injuries and the team, led by Dalton, at the end of the season played much better than the team played when they was healthy. It seems like the garbage time stats that Dak accumulated in those first few games meant more to some fans than the team losing.

It's true. This team was not great, defensively, at the beginning of the season but it was horrific at the end, in terms of injuries and available talent. I agree jn.

Dak had 4 INTs and 3 fumbles himself.

It sounds like you're just trying to make excuses.

Dak's play through the first 2 1/2 quarters of the games didn't help.

You in West Virginia? If so, you should hook up with Brain and see about hooking up to drink some of that Mountain Houch, WV is famous for.

After all, it is Friday.

Right it's all Dak's fault. No matter what happens. You haters are just ignorant.
Nobody said that.

But to act like Dak had no fault is just being a homer.

Dak's play through 2 1/2 quarters of those games didn't help out the terrible defense. That's for sure.

I understand their philosophy of not wanting to overspend but this roster needs some serious remodeling. I thought with the Dak contract out of the way, they could focus on making this roster more balanced

If anything, this team seems worse than last year
Well, we haven't drafted yet, and free agency isn't over, so an assessment now doesn't really mean much ....

but even without those things, Dak should be healthy, La'el Collins will be back, Jarwin will be back, Biadasz, McGregor, Diggs, Wilson and Gallemore will be coming in with some experience on the field, and OTA's, a full training camp and a preseason will be available to a coaching staff that stepped in brand new without the benefit of those things last year.

Obviously this doesn't prove the team will be better, but it does show there are positive things that give them a real chance to be better, and that isn't even factoring in the draft or whoever them may sign as a free agent.

We will be better than last year simply because we should be healthier.

Dak is the least of the issues and in fact is the only reason the team has done as well as they have when he's playing.

They have added players to the defensive line that should be better than the guys that they are losing. They added an offensive tackle that should be just as good or better than the guy they lost. They have the oline coming back from injury. They have 10 draft picks and a long way to go in free agency.

It's probably a wash at DE maybe a small improvement in that Basham might a bit more upside than an older Aldon Smith at this point. But we are talking about a backup DE here so it's not like we signed him to be a starting DE.

DT is likely a wash too at this point. Woods was part of the group that just struggled last year. Watkins is just a JAG. Urban? They'll probably get more out of him than Poe considering they got nothing out of Poe. But DT as a group might be a slight upgrade when I think they needed to really upgrade the position. People will say, hey, we still have the draft but this draft isn't top heavy with elite DT prospects.

We won’t know anything until the games are played.

this teams issue last year was injuries

you cant lose an entire offensive line and a franchise qb along with half your defense and think youre going to contend

if they can stay healthy their a much better team

Without delving deeply into researching it, last year seemed like a historically bad year for injuries in Dallas. Seemed like the whole OL was missing all the time and then Dak went down. The offense should be much better if they can stay somewhat healthy. On defense, we have to hope a new coach, upcoming fee agent signings, and the draft will help them be better.

Dak’s contract will be the main issue that limits signing quality players in the next few years. Signing a donkey to a thoroughbred contract will not improve his play and will only serve to kill the teams abilities to sign better talent in the future years.

The interior guys they signed are replacing Crawford, and one of the no names that didn't play much. They are better than these 2 guys. I think that there is a good chance that Basham will play with his hand in the dirt like he did in college. He had some good plays in 2020. He forced 3 or 4 fumbles.

You mean the 8-8 and 1-3 that he's been posting?

What has he done for me lately?
 You haters are sooooo ignorant. You just stated early you don't blame it all on Dak and now you put all the blame on Dak.
