They are holding onto Cooper mainly because of they restructure, they lose their out on his contract.
I think they may be willing to let go of, or push that out back. It would basically be saying right now, we plan on keeping Cooper and letting Gallup.

As far as any pursuit of Reed or any other player of that caliber, is there a better option? If you restructure Elliott or Smith, how long do you have to hold them?

Let's look at this more closely. Tyrone Crawford 10M or Jarran Reed ...................................... Give him the damn money!!!!
Good point. He’s very similar to Grady Jarrett and Quinn needs that type of player.

As I said earlier, Elliott is here for the next two years no matter what, so that's where I'd look first.

Itll mean a few extra million of dead money in 2023.

I'm just not sure if the savings is enough to bring Reed in.

Let's say this.....if they want to spend the money on Reed, they can find it.

I would...he is worth it...makes the DEs and LBs better.

He certainly would solve our 3T spot, where we wouldn't have to count on playing green prospects as starters. Read on the Seahawk from SB Nation that he was more of a flash player that struggled with consistency. Strange that they released him after 1 season, on a two year deal. Think his asking price is going to force the team to pass. On a side note, read a tweet today, that the Cowboys are interested in Justin Houston.

Can’t trust LVE and Jaylon is awful. KJ played great last year. Keanu playing WLB supposedly as well.
You cant trust LVE but he'll still more than likely be ready week 1. And jerry if Jerry wanted to bench his cornerstone he could've just cut him. Why pay that bonus he just got just to have Wright supplant him? The logistics dont make sense. Fisher is either lying or Jerry is lost.

If they had cut Crawford two years ago when they should have, they’d have an additional $20 million to spend on him or anyone else they wanted to sign.

I don't know......but 11mill a year ain't happening in big D

My thinking is kill 3 birds w/ one stone......cut Jaylon....sign KJ Wright and Reed. Where would I be wrong in this thinking?

Someone please do the math....I'm knee deep in dog hair @ the moment.

I would put zero stock in that Justin Houston tweet.

KJ Wright isnt an every down player anymore.

He wouldn't need to be.....when he's replacing Jaylon. Hell....Jaylon isn't a full time starter now....but we are paying him like he is. If Jaylon is a 3 down player.....then why did we sign Neal as a WLB? LVE isn't coming off the field for the gimp....you can take that to the bank.
