Two reasons:

He was a $12 million a year guy for the past two seasons. He’s not about to drop down to the Cowboys’ price range.
The Colts have interest in keeping him. A much better team, situation, and certainly salary cap room.

A DT that is good would be nice. I think we still need to look at another CB. I don't want us to go in the draft with that a glaring need. I think having the ability to take the best player no matter what is a great move.

Doesn't mean he is going to garner a similar salary, especially in a lower cap year. The longer he is out there, the price will come down.

Highly unlikely. He is more of an upside player that needs development.

Depends how they would structure Reed. If it's multi-year, even if fake years they could spread out any bonus and make the first year low.

He is extremely raw and will make little impact in 2021.

Jerry likes his mid round projects but I doubt this happens at 10.

If they go DE there, it'll be Paye.

What makes you think they are getting him to sit behind them? Wright can play any of the LB positions. Makes a lot of sense go get him.

He was a good player prior, nobody looked good in Nolan's scheme. Nolan wanted to play 3-4 with 4-3 players.

Yes on Reed. The guy is pretty good.

No on Wright. He would bring knowledge of the scheme with him but that would be the only thing that he would bring to Dallas that they don’t have, IMO. I’d add him if he came really, really cheap... but he won’t. Wouldn’t want the team’s last free agent dollars going to him. And, he’s getting up there in age now.

Reed, OTOH would be really nice to have and if he gets right could be very good for a lot of years still.

It’s time... We were arguably the worst defence in the lg last year. Let’s make a statement. Cut Jaylon and bring in KJ and Reed if possible.
