RELEASED Tyrone Crawford to retire per McCarthy

A very good friend whom I went to high school with and have remained close friends with over the past 30+ years has only 1 child (son) who is very close friends with Tyrone Crawford. They work out and play some basketball together at their local gym during the offseason. I'm sure my friend's son will be sad to hear of Tyrone Crawford retiring, but I'm sure he is very grateful as well.

Tyrone Crawford had to be one of the most beat-up DTs ever. He's earned his retirement and then some! Happy for him and for us! :thumbup:

They listened to the coaching staff instead of a real GM like McClay. Same thing happened when they drafted Taco and Hill. We got screwed. Imagine having TJ Watt and Juan Thornhill on this defense. That would solidify a stud TOP 5 pass rusher and a very good starting FS. Pretty sad when you let these old senile men like Kiffin and Roddle make draft and financial decisions.

Giving Marinelli the influence that he had was incredibly damaging to this team. And something we will be struggling to overcome for years.

Tyrone Crawford is the epitome of why the Cowboys are stuck in mediocrity for decades.

Giving average players starplayer money because the GM likes them on a personal level.

And don’t forget restructuring those bad contracts and locking yourself into them years later as well. Not only did they make that initial mistake, but they doubled down on it by restructuring it too.

And even when they could have and should have gotten out, they willingly and inexplicably chose to keep going with it.

I had no problem with the contract when it was given. His body just gave out on him. He kept playing though. Seems like a good guy and leader of the team. Enjoy retirement and thank you!

Now go destroy some bouncers and have fun!

Of course, we went from a 10 year pro bowl all pro type stater to a bust who isn’t even a stater if he’s even in the league at a top 3 position. That one hurts

And don’t forget we’re currently looking for a free safety because we passed on the ones that fell to us so that we could reach for a guy that suckered our then-coach into thinking he had changed.

Potential and the rush to sign him to a "steal of a deal".

2014 he replaced Melton at the 3 tech and had 29 QB pressures(and 3 sacks)
At the time Marcell Dareus signed a 6 year 95mil contract and it was assumed this deal for TC could be a steal if he progressed. He didn't. And they kept on keeping him around as they never seriously tried to upgrade the spot.
