Will pitts help the offense show up in the 1st half? Defense needs a ton of work but it'd be hard to pass on pitts.

Pitts gives the offense an entirely new demeanor, the team for that matter.

kellen was a passing qb, that is all he knows, and he doesnt understand or value the run game.
So we will see the same thing again this year.
And jerry extended him lol so he will be here a long time. I was hoping he would take the college job.
im holding out hope MM has had some come to Jesus talks with KM get on the same page integrate more of MM WCO into this with another offseason..

last yeas a mulligan playing down by so many points and bad OL hard to get run game going but 2019 you saw the issues beginning..im hoping MM is taking a bit more interest in the offense now that he has a year under his giant belt....he more then one occasion saying the short off season and new staff didnt want it upset the offense, that has past, im betting he become more involved this season..

Rumor has it Miami taking pitts. The closer we get to the draft the more I salivate at the idea of Pitts. I think even if Mia passes on him he will be going to Denver.
I agree you’ll be gone before it’s our turn to pick even if Atlanta might take him. We’re destined for a cornerback

Yet he was perfectly fine screwing up the defense.

dont live in the past mistake was made, corrected with changes ....moving on now

an entire new offseason to make adjustments.

BTW Injuries' derailed 2020 more then any next issue we had..lets not get it twisted a healthy dak, OL and Jarwin plus some defenders we are easily 3-4 more wins and division win..seatles defense was pretty horrible last year as well and managed to make the playoffs.. having to use 4 Qbs and 3 deep on the OL caused most of our issues last year, yes the defense was bad thats for sure but lack of offense, offense 3 and outs , many TOs by the offense, ST crazy failed fakes etc etc didnt hep the defense having to constantly defend short fields or overcome quick turnarounds..it kept the run game on the sideline which could also help the defense IE losing TOP by large margins..

look it fell apart, time to reset..move forward

Agreed. He’s this team’s Alvin Harper.
if Pitts happen to fall to us you could take him and trade gallup..or move down trading out lettings someone else take pitts and getting a lot of extra draft picks to package and move to get your targets..

I actually don’t dwell on the past in anything. There ain’t no future in the past. And I agree that injuries were the single biggest factor in the team’s results last year. I was simply pointing out the dichotomy of not wanting to mess with the offense in last year’s environment, yet having no problem doing it with the defense. Frankly, in my opinion, MM is simply Jerry’s talking parrot in that don’t mess with the offense statement.

Also, the team might, that’s might, have won 3-4 more games had Dak not been injured. However, based on the results up to Dak’s injury, that’s questionable. And that’s not a shot at Dak.

I agree. I’m conflicted over Pitts. This team needs defensive difference makers, bit if he's truly a generational talent and clearly the BPA, it makes sense to take him. My only pause is Zeke was considered a generational talent and, other than 2016, has not been. Not putting all the blame in Zeke, it’s just what it is. To quote from Big Jake, your fault, my fault, nobody’s fault, Zeke has not been a difference maker.

sorry no

other then Zeke would have won 3 straight rushing titles and our only playoff appearances were when zeke and the OL was the identity, hows that working out? he had one bad year and is generational talent is used correctly..Henry didnt do squat his first 3 years , why? he wasn't used correctly that why when the offense was redone to have Henry the identity look what happened.. zekes suspension kept his from 3 straight rushing titles, what else do you want, ive posted this before...

you fans have bad memory but Emmitt had so many years where all he was was volume back more then half his seasons as pro were under 4 YPC for the year, seriously if Zeke isnt generational neither was ES..they are in a lot of ways the same back and if Zeke was ion team with 12 HOF and was being used as option one as runner, well he would still be going strong..Moore derailed 2019 and zeke still did well..so what 2020 terrible right ES had so many years with that YPC output he wasn't barry sanders and zekes not Cmac or kamara hes not flashy but ES had ONE year over 5YPC in rushing league..

zeke may have dropped off some but its overblown, hes declining because of the way the offense is being called, period, ES wasn't flashy and neither is zeke but zeke was special until they stopped using him in an offense that suits him..

I was very Anti-Pitts until i remembered that it seems the Cowboys struggle scoring TDs in Redzone. Dak can always drive right down the field but struggles when close to the end zone. So i looked up 2019 stats, and within 10 yards, Dak was in 27th place in passing stats right behind Dalton on the Bengals. Could be coaching but its something to think about.

Yeah. Dak really needs the help. He can't make those super tight window throws in the redzone.

Miami wont have a shot at Pitts because ATL will nab him first. But I can see Pitts elevating Tua to a huge status quickly.

Dream on.
Dream on.
Dream until your dream comes true!
If I remember correctly, it took years before that song got any kind of recognition and playtime on the radio.
I believe they had hits from songs afterwards that brought that particular song to the masses' attention.

As I alluded to, Zeke certainly looked special in 2016. He showed that in the Steeler game that year. But he hasn’t since then. The speed and burst he had in 2016 just hasn’t looked to be there since then. Some of that is probably the toll of the # of carries at the NFL level. Some is probably due to bulking up to deal with the physicality of the NFL.

Zeke’s rushing titles were absolutely a function of how many times he carried the ball. But if that makes one “generational”, then Demarco Murray, CJ2k, Gurley and Henry were or are all generational talents.

I never considered ES generational, but I certainly would take him over Zeke. The last game of the year for the Division on the road in NY playing the 2nd half with a separated shoulder says all you need to know about ES. Zeke hasn’t shown that level of commitment in my opinion.

But my contention isn’t that Zeke is trash and we need to dump him, but with the idea of a player being generational and that you have to have one to succeed.

Pitts might get at minimum 12 td's for us this year in the red zone as a rookie..and thats worst case scenario. This guy makes you defend every patch of turf on every down. Makes life easier for the oline, Dak and Zeke. Opens up the entire offense even more. It also helps the defense because you then make the opposing offense more predictable. That is to any defenses benefit.
Thats bold, that is basically an All-Pro season. I don't see it, either is a true TE or he is split end. e will have a hard adjusting to either aspect at the pro level.

With QBs expecting go at 1-2-3, the key spot is #4 - currently held by the Falcons. Although TE Hayden had a decent first year there (56 rec, 571 yds, 6 TDs), adding Pitts would keep the passing game at a high level with Calvin Ridley a rising star and Julio Jones declining. But the new HC & GM could prefer to trade down and receive a haul in extra picks.

Good point but I think you also have to factor in if Fields is there at #4 it will be really hard on them to pass him up because he's a home town kid and Ryan is long in the tooth plus he is counting a good bit towards their salary cap. I could totally see the Falcons taking Fields if he makes it to them because he doesn't have to start right now but his big name with the local fan base would most definitely fill seats, so they'd come out looking great by taking a qb for the future.
