Depends on the draft. If it goes chalk, go defense if things start getting strange like one of the QB prospects start falling, I would either draft the QB prospect with intentions to trade if you can't find a partner keep the prospect and see what you got by year 3 when Daks contract is up.

I want a lineman ..... DL or OL

I would prefer a DE because you cannot trust Randy Gregory.

My 1st choice would be between Sewell and Surtain, if either of them fall to the 10th pick.

Defense, but if the guy on O is just significantly better than who is available on D, I'll be fine with taking O... sort of like last year with CeeDee Lamb who stood out over anyone available on defense. No trade downs... Just take the best player available at that position. I'd rather have one outstanding player than one ok 1st rounder and another Jerry gamble pick in the 2nd.

thats the issue. Thats the only reason I chose Offense. I’ll take a star Tackle or TE over a solid Defender. And it appears to be how they line up at 10. But I am OK trading down and picking up extra picks and taking a defender.

David LeFleur cured us from anymore 1st round TEs. 8)

when Collins can’t play RT this season, Steele will be....

or we pick a RT in the first.

i think QB will be in 2-3 years.

We are sold on Dak for at least 3 seasons.

I want the Cowboys to draft the best football player. Period. I dont care what he plays. I want a player who has the talent to start - immediately- and makes a difference when on the field.

We have far too many players that are "projects", need to be "developed", and are otherwise invisible when on the field unless they are getting beat or committing ill-timed mistakes.

good post.

Maybe CeeDee was picked because of Coops status after 2021?

Coop is due 20 mill $$$ in base per year in 2022-2024.

cheaper to go with CD and Gallup.

Shoulda done 10 players instead of offense defense.
Pitts
Sewell
Slater
Horn
Surtain
Barmore
Parsons
Collins
Farley
JOK
agree, but if your putting Pitts and Sewell there, you have to include Chase as well.

The most important thing in this draft is that we don't take a quarterback. Not while we have a top 10 pick. And not while we have a bunch of extra picks to help cover for a trade.

That way in a few years we'll need to go through another horrible season to get to the top of the draft. Or trade multiple first round picks to invest into a single unproven player.

Because, why think ahead?
