1 Tech (Woods, Urban likely depth with them. Yes I know Urban is more of a 3.)

CB for sure

FS should be good with Kazee for a year. LB will be good with Neal, Smith, LVE

I’ll say two. The rest is much needed depth however

How many starters in this draft?

The general draft class may produce at least one or two starters – others draftees could be a wait and see, development types.
jerry has always said that he expects at least 3 significant, contributing players with their first three draft picks in the first 3 rounds.
That could mean flat out starters ala Lamb, Diggs … and rotation contributor and reserves ala Gallimore, Biadaz
The aim is to get players that could start either immediately or next year.. while they contribute significantly this year.

- Kazee is a wait and see item with me, for all the INTs numbers, what about the rest of his game in question ?
His coverage grade, tackling in open field and in support. Is he one of the reasons why ATL has declined to being one of the worst coverage defenses in NFL.
And we’ll have to see how much is he fully recovered from his Achilles tendon injury.

- I don’t like that we didn’t go after the more well regarded free agent vets that were more well graded in their respective areas ala Dalvin Thompson, Malcolm Brown, Johnathan Hanks, etc.
But once again we decided the Stephen Jones Moneyball Commitment in bargain dollar less heralded vets. We added multiple bodies (including re-signing our own) mostly on one year deals;
The bargain types we got (Urban, Tashan, Watkins) are the usual the mere rotation types much like the Chris Covington, Antuwann Woods, Justin Hamilton, and even traded for
bust DT Akou,… those kind of moves continue to get us nowhere or improve our weak areas -en route to more wasted years.
And the team doesn’t seem to want to really invest in essential run stoppers in the draft.

- Re-signing Anthony Brown and Jourdan Lewis does not help improve our team, imo. -we’ve seen their limitations and why are we set on returning those limitations to our secondary
that still needs a vast upgrade ?
Either new coaching staff and current management seems too set on staying with this same ole,.. same ole this limitations, (ala Crawford, Woods, Jaylon) that will do nuthin’
to upgrade improvement to the defense.

- that LB unit as it is also headed for trouble - LVE is always hurt, always battling neck/shoulder issues, and he still hasn’t found his position and comfort zone as a LB.
I’m interested to see if they will pick on LVE's option year
Jaylon has way too many liabilities to factor as a starter and it’ll be another adventure for the next coaches to just try to find any way he can contribute;
Not worth that much cap dollar to do that. And we have nuthin else to resort to that's on the current roster. Will we stay with our current guys that we like so much ,.. or fish for
more key LB guys either in free agency, trade or the draft ?

Exactly how many starters are we needing to Draft in order to feel we improved and regard the draft a success.hat positions need the new starters.

*[ see all three LBers positions..a CB and 2 SS..a Guard. And another pass rusher to help Tank and Gregory get to the passer.

I would also like a kick returner drafted yo save Cee Dee for offense only.

A rookie QB seems logically. That's my need list for us.

I feel we've already improved with the healthy guys we get back

The thing about relying on the draft is a rookie is rarely as good as he's going to be in his first year. That's the reason FA is important because the players have a track record in the NFL and can hit the ground running. If we would have signed Tomlinson I would've felt better about this defense than I do going forward.

I would hope for at least one CB and one who could play FS...but I am not holding my breath at the FS wish.

I would like to see anywhere from 2 - 3 on the Dline as rotational guys at the least. Whether that be at 3Tech 1Tech or DE

Would like an OL...they can be a swing guy for now, can start at OG if need be but someone who they feel can take over at RT or LT in the future.

Would like to see a LB who might not start but might become a starter when LVE or Jaylon get injured.

I will assume any draftee who starts is an improvement. But I also think we make too much of draftees. Most do not really make an impact in their first year, especially on defense.

The Cowboys need multiple draft picks to start every year because that is how they claim they want to build their team. If the get 4 starters every year, in 4 years they will start to lose some of those picks to free agency. But getting 4 starters every year is a fantasy. The Cowboys are lucky if they get 2. And by the way, just because they start does not mean they are great players. They need 5 pro-bowl players at least.

Simple answers aren’t allowed! We need to replace everyone! It’ll take 4-6 years, and by then the offense will suck! We’re doomed! We suck!
I want 1 player in this draft Micah Parsons after that draft any player they want

Well..you rattle off the rebuild issues for sure. Good overview..well thought out. So I sort of feel you lack confidence We can squeeze the juice out of this draft. I think we can. What I see is we do not have the quality on the coaching staff to get it playing on the field in time.that is my point.
