Usually teams assign about 15-18 first rd grades in a given draft, how many do you think there are this yr?

QB (4) Lawrence, Wilson, Fields, Lance
RB (0) (probably high 2nd rd grades)
TE (1) Pitts
WR (3) Chase, Waddle, Smith
OL (4) Sewell, Slater, Darrishaw, Tucker
DE (2) Ojulari, Paye (think medicals drop Phillips)
DT (0) (Believe Barmore receives a high 2nd rd grade)
LB (2) Parsons, JOK (Think Collins/Davis get 2nd rd grades)
CB (2) Surtain, Horn
S (0) (Moehrig, Grant, Holland are 2nd rd players)

18 (might be too high)

When the Cowboys are on the clock, most likely all 18 are gone, but there should be a few with high 2nd rd grades.

You think NFL is in the business of inviting players who have high second round grades?

Barmore received an invite to the draft

I think he is a first round DT and I’d take him over Horn any day (hopefully in a trade down)

But Paye is a first rounder

They sure did in 2019 - DK Metcalf, Drew Lock

The NFL isn't in the business of assigning grades anyway

Think this is pretty close. I, personally, would add Barmore and remove Paye, and I think there are a few more OL who are first-round calibre.

I think the OP looks good. Possibly Newsome may sneak in there.

I don't think Barmore is a top 18 player, more in that top 25 range, although a lot of reputable media scouts have been listing him in the 40's most recently. I agree, Paye is a fringe 1st rd player.

I’d add:

  • Rashod Bateman at WR
  • Tevin Jenkins at OT
  • Moehrig at FS
  • Davis at LB

I understand why you didn’t put Moehrig and Davis... but I think some teams might have a round 1 grade on them. Bateman and Jenkins are just really good, IMO.

For the most part though, I’d say you nailed it.

He doesn't mean Barmore won't be a first round pick, hes saying he doesn't have a first round grade. Most drafts only have 18-24 first round graded players.

You see a RB in the top 13?
I see him as a day one quality starter. In terms of where he'll be picked it's anybody's guess RBs, Safeties, and IDL usually get pushed down and QBs, Edge rushers, and LTs usually get pushed up.

Brugler has 20 players with straight first round (not 1st-2nd) grades.

Unless the back is a top five player, he usually is taken late rd 1, early rd 2. Could see Miami take one at 18, but that would be the absolute earliest.

I don't think Moehrig, but the other 3 could be fringe 1st rd players.

Whoever the pick is at 44, we will hear afterward how much higher they had him ranked.

I guarantee this.

My money is on Rousseau.
