I like Basham a little more that Turner in the third but a bit of a reach at 44

Dane Brugler has him at 44. I’m hoping he’s still there at 44. He’s in a different universe then Jordan.

NFL has him at 49 so it wouldn't be too bad of a reach but I would be more excited about something like last year when diggs was considered a first round talent fell to us.

Based on how my board's shaping up, the ideal would be striking at safety. If not that, you're probably settling for a 3rd round grade at that point regardless of what position you're taking.

I thought I heard Quinn was at Oregon’s pro day. Probably a little high for Holland but I could see it

if Dane has him at 44 it’s not a reach. If we get him at 44 it’s a homerun. He can literally play/rush from anywhere on the DL. Also unlike some of the first round weak side only pass rushers he’s a very clean prospect.

Every has the guy they follow for me it would be a reach. Phillips would be a better value if his medicals check out. Basham isn't going to be a quick twitch burst edge rusher, he' more of a power guy.

Remember that Diggs was in the 20s on most boards last year. Brugler had the Cowboys taking him with their 1st-round pick in his last mock.

Somebody may fall a lot, and the Cowboys love to grab those guys, at least recently.

Assuming we draft one of these non-ball hawking CB’s at 10, what do you think the Cowboys will do are 44. Which guys in that range have we shown a lot of interest in?
Find the injured player that falls and Jerry thinks he's getting the steal of the draft. That will be our pick.

Would be interested in a highly ranked player who is sliding down the draft board.
I am a sucker for value.

Would you be ok with Farley or Phillips if they fell to 44?
Im not the right person to answer your honest query because I'm sick of the 2nd round injury/ mental gamble selections. Some of them give you hope but more then 50% give you poor returns. Before Farley's off season surgery I was off him for previous injuries. History trends toward repeating itself.
I know its football and injuries happen

This is 1 of many narratives that has taken off on this board that I don’t understand. Gregory and Jaylon...they are the only 2 risky 2nd round picks in at least a decade +. It’s not a trend with the Cowboys at all, those 2 picks were the outlier.

I can't tell you what the cowboys would do. But when offered a chance to trade down, and the DT2 Levi Onwuzurike is unavailable, I trade down small increments and pick up later round picks. Worst case you can pick up one of what Voch Lombardi calls the "small angry dudes" at CB/S.

Levi is a bit of a pet cat as a 1 gap 1T.

On a trade down I'd be considering DT Marlon Tuipulotu or the kid from La Tech, or the Georgia CB, Stokes.

Holland, which someone else mentioned, I might stick at 44 for.

One thing to please remember is that draft grades have errors on the order of 0.7-0.8 of a round, i.e. about 25 spots.
Arguing about the relative value of a 44 versus a 49 is arguing inside the standard error of the assessment.

First I'll say that I wouldn't assume that pick at 10. But if they do take a CB at 10, they could easily look to trade back into rd 1 for a player like LB Collins, FS Moehrig or DE Phillips.
If they don't do that and one of them is still there at 44, I think they would be the pick for sure.
If they pass on a CB at 10 for an OT, or do something else like trade down for a non CB like Collins or Phillips, than a CB should now be the main target at 44. IMO, Newsome, Stokes and Melifonwu would be in play. Also depending on what they did at 10, I would think that if by chance one of the top OT's, like Darrisaw or Jenkins fell to 44 he would be a main target.

If they take the CB at 10 and FS Moehrig is there at 44 I think he's the pick. But if he's gone, Grant is definitely a target at 44.
Next on my list would be DT and I think Baremore, Levi or McNeil would all be targets.
Other DE's besides Phillips that could be targeted are Basham, Tyron and Ossai.
At LB Davis and Bolton could be in play.
