Who is the one guy who could change the outlook of our season?

For me it's Vander Esch, he showed how good he could be in his rookie season and having a true MLB thumper on the squad would be huge. A healthy LVE is the most important part of this defense to me.

So what say you?
The X factor...DMX...

Ha! That's who I was going to say.

Yeah, he's a mystery. Looking great as a rookie. But never again, even when healthy. What's up with that? Maybe 2019 was injuries, 2020 a bad scheme that screwed the entire defense, plus bad DT play?

LVE seems like a guy who could make a *huge* comeback. But it's a ess, cause we can't bank on that, or bank on him remaining healthy, so we can't take his 5th year option. Big disappointment. Big mess. Sad. As a rookie he looked like a perennial pro bowl player in the making. Sad.

yes.,..imagine 2019 No.1 yrds offense passing Dak, combined with 2016 breakaway ZKE ... Whoaa, that would be utter Jeepers Creepers scary ..!! :oldcouple:

Please don't mention Dak and breakaway in the same post. Too soon. ;)

I'll go with Neville Gallimore:

... even over Zeke, Gregory, Lamb and Jarwin, An dominant interior middle terror who can shore up the team's weakest position,.. .and also elevate the team defense to another level.

Imagine if Gallimore becomes like ex-interior greats Vikes Kevin Williams, Geno Atkins or Michael Dean Perry .. ??

CD Lamb

This past season was his rookie season, no minicamps, no training camp, no preseason games. A new coaching staff trying to find an identity. The starting QB goes down. The entire squad of O-linemen go down. The running game underperforms. He's competing with 2 other talented WR's for looks.

And yet, he gains over 1000 yards from scrimmage, just 35 yards shy of a 1000 yard receiving season. In Cowboy history he is ranked #1 in receptions. He is ranked #2 in yards behind only HOFer Bob Hayes.

He will enter the 2021 season with a full offseason of training, receiving reps from the #1 QB, with a years experience as a starter.

DB's trying to cover him will have better luck if they tried to grab his cellphone.

2021 will be the Year of the Lamb.

I don't even call Lamb an X-factor because there's no mystery there. He is good and will get better.

I liked LVE as a pick, because I can see him being meh again, or great like 2018.

Pollard was my pick last year, but he really went nowhere. It will be even harder to get him on the field now with Jarwin back.

Another X-Factor is Gallup - will he still be here? I've been wanting to cash him out since Dak went down. If Gallup is gone, then Pollard could be the designated 5th man.

I'd really like a lineup of Cooper, Zeke, Jarwin, Lamb as WR/Runner, and Pollard as the RB/WR.

Lots of position flex. Everyone contributes in run and pass. No dead weight. Multiple legitimate runners. Deep speed with Pollard and Cooper. Everyone and every spot on the field must be defended.

Zeke. If he can return to his form from 2 years ago, we will be hard to stop because the passing offense is so deadly

Zeke is a good one. I think he was hampered by a hamstring and a messed up offense last year. I expect him to bounce back in his own play this year, *and* an improved offense around him to give him much easier rows to hoe.

Dak... If he doesn't get past being average, we're screwed. He's really all that matters.

Hands down Quinn.

Exactly, Dallas seems to be laying this defense on his shoulders and hoping he can sprinkle some fairy dust from the old Seattle defense and raise the level of play. Not too many player changes will be made. Scheme and game plans will be the key.

From the contract it has to be Prescott.

He wont be of course.
So i chose Tyron Smith (baring we dont draft Sewell). If he stays healthy througout the season that would be a game changer.
