I think the coverage talk about Parsons is getting blown out of proportion. The scouting reports list it more as a question mark than a negative just because he doesn't have a tone of experience there. Most LBs that are bad at or have bad instincts and aren't good athletes. Parsons checks both those boxes so I don't see how can't be at least average in coverage at the next level.

With how good he is at blitzing I think he's also going to be doing a lot of that on 3rd down with others dropping into coverage.

I like your idea about using him creatively too. Zero, zero hesitations taking him at 10.
Yeah, I don’t really see it as a weakness... just not one of his strengths. He won’t be bad in coverage, IMO. But he’s very good going forward and getting to the QB. I’d want to do that more often than they have been with their LB’s.

Quinn gives me some hope about some of the things I’ve been wanting to see on defense.

Davis will be the guy some team drafts because Parsons is went off the board. I think that means he will be gone late 1st. This draft could be full of surprises though. I think some teams are going to drop players who opted out in 2020 down on their boards in favor of players they have more recent tape on. If all things are equal who would you rather take, a guy who played in 2020 or a guy who had the entire year off and then takes a major leap from college to the NFL?

I don't blame guys for opting out. They probably had good reasons for doing it, but at the end of the day they still took a year off from football and who knows how ready they will be to play football at a higher level.

Does anyone think Jamin Davis may be there when we pick?
there is a buzz around him, he may go later half of 1st round or early second. however, I wouldn't mind trading up slightly to get him. although we need quantity, I rather have quality.

Dallas likes length in their LB’s, so they probably won’t really even consider Bolton... though I have hope that Quinn might be changing that some.

Under whom though?

Of recent history guys like March-Lillard, Joe Thomas, Bernard, even Neal are not long guys.

I dont see any way that Phillips is there at 44 after his workout
I fully expect Bolton to be there

Under McClay, I guess. Or maybe it was Marinelli.

I know those guys you list aren’t long-levered players... but the guys they’ve been drafting there usually are. It’s almost like if they’re going to use a draft pick - particularly in the first 3 or 4 rounds - they want a guy with length.

It sure seems that way anyway. I’ve heard them talking about length specifically but that was in relation to the DB’s.

Hopefully, they don’t rule out guys because they’re an inch or two shorter than they want. That would be great.

i wonder if they know bolton exists...havent read that we've talked to him....or even given him a head knod as they pass in the hallway.

i think phillips goes in rd1...but maybe folks get scared off by the medicals...or maybe a bad interview.
but he's probably gonna be a raven.
i'd love to trade back in and snag him.

Bolton I've seen ranked all over the place, he's undersized, reminds me of those Miami u linebackers from the early nineties, hasn't got great length but is around the ball consistently, can cover, not seen his RAS profile...

Yup.....and I would hate the pick. Know what's worse than having a LBer that can't cover like Jaylon? Having 2 LBers...that cover like Jaylon..

Yep.

Linebackers that cant cover are nearly undraftable in this NFL.
