I like trading back in the first round and then trading for as many 2nd and 3rd rounders as possible...if we could get 6 picks in the top 100 we would be instantly more talented
Maybe not back into the first, but definitely up from 44, and possibly 75 as well.

The sweet spot for players that can help appears IMO to be in the 30-60 range.

I've been saying all along....deal down from 10 but up thereafter.

Makes full sense and I agree with the point....

Just that the idea of Jerry doing much of anything is bothersome.

Jerry should just stick to what he knows making money and drinking....

Agreed, it would be very easy to pull off this scenario especially with a trade down from #10.

I usually like and want the Cowboys to stand pat and make their selection, but this year looking at this team with the offense pretty much set(although I'd like an OT at some point) but after the first selection at ten, I'd like the Cowboys to go after the player they covet if that player drops into a range for the Cowboys to move up to get him...

I’m perfectly fine staying put. If someone falls then fine, but I’m not trading up in the second round because of a run on a specific position.

I know 10 draft picks won’t all make the roster, but if you have room for 6 you have a much better chance of hitting on 6/10 than 6/6.

Don't give the man ideas. I swear there are reporters paid by division teams to start planting these manipulative thoughts in Jerry's mind. lol

You have a much better chance hitting on 6 in the top 100 then 10 picks thru pick 238 with 6 of them being outside the top 100.

With as bad as this team is at drafting defense we’ll be lucky to get one starting caliber defensive player out of those 10 picks.

I think we'll be good if we stay out the MASH unit

If it were up to me, I would always trade my 6th and 7th rounders to move up for targets in rounds 2-5 if I could find a partner.

I would do it every year. I just don't think there is much difference between guy 200 and guy 270 and I would then hit the FA's hard.

I'd be fine with "Trader Jerry" showing up during the Draft, if it means he elects to stay at 10 but is willing to trade back into the 1st for a starter they want and need. "Trader Jerry" using those excess picks to move back into the 1st, 2nd or 3rd is fine with me.

Now, trusting that they will evaluate the player properly is another question. But they seem to do well with 1st rounders.

The Cowboys have 10 selections in the 2021 NFL draft. Only the Philadelphia Eagles (11) have more.

The Cowboys need Trader Jerry to reappear.

They don't need wild-uncle Jerry making trades for trades' sake, which seemed to be the case in 2009, a special-teams-centric draft that turned out to be one of the Cowboys' worst drafts.

The Cowboys need with-a-purpose Jerry to make moves.

To many, it might scream that using all 10 picks is the best way to help cost certainty, but there is no way 10 draft picks, plus a couple of undrafted free agents, will make the 53-man roster. Before folks get carried away by remembering sixth- and seventh-round success stories, there are far more misses and never-weres.

Todd is advocating moving up and having a smaller class.

There just isn't room on this roster for 10 new players from this draft or even in the world.

I don't feel this way at all. If anything, I'd prefer that we trade down in the first round and pick up an extra pick or two. Wiould 11 or 12 players all make the team? Probably not. But even if you draft 7 instead of 10, the probability of them all turning out to be upgrades is not high. I'm always for taking as many shots as you can. I'd rather 8 of 12 turn out to be roster worthy than 5 of 7. I'm not necessarily opposed to moving up if the team thinks there's a player worth it, but I don't care for the idea of trading just because there's no way 10 players will make the 53. It's silly to think we don't have multiple players who can't be upgraded/replaced.

I disagree this year.
We lack talent on defense at at three levels, we also need to get younger at the OL. Plus, I wouldn't mind grabbing a WR, with the talent in this class.
If anything, we need more pics.

The only problem is you need the draft picks on your team due to their low cap figure and Dallas cap issues going forward into the future years. While all 10 likely won't make the team - sure increases your odds of hitting on more. Trading, while you would think is getting more of a sure thing - that of course is not always the case. Give me the chances with 5 above average chances and 5 lotto tickets :)
