The 1975 "Dirty Dozen" Draft was historic. 11 draft picks and one free agent made the team but that will never happen again.

if Jerry moved up to get Pitts and spent the entire rest of the draft on defense In my opinion that's a good draft. Doesn't mean the picks will pan out but it means we addressed our needs.

We have Schultz and Jarwin, a solid tandem at TE. We also have overpaid QB and RB, plus a top 3 WR trio. Pitts is a luxury pick, like Lamb was last year.

This is going to be one of the weirdest drafts ever with how last year's college season went. Scouting took a huge hit with them not being allowed to attend games. Factor in players sitting out and how that affects the competition some of the talented players were facing may make them seem better than they actually are and some players just didn't have the chance to sign.

It may make more sense to keep all the picks and take as many swings as you can hoping to hit a grand slam.

Or trade for next year's picks.

This is going to be one crazy draft bro

McClay will dominate.

The more things change the more they stay the same.

This may be true. But take last year..until CeeDee dropped so badly..we will never know what type of draft we were going to see. Jones may have had trades and other manuvers to pump up numbers to bolster the results in 2020. Needing a slot receiver was priority one at the time and Cee Dee showed up aborting other draft moves that might have been considered. I assume nothing with Jerry and his son.
Yeah, we know that the draft was headed towards being a disaster. Jerry would have drafted the LSU DE that the Jags ended up drafting. The guy was a total bust his rookie year and according to Jags fans, he will be a bust for his entire career. Without the Lamb pick, that draft doesn’t look so great. If they had drafted the DE, that has a name not worth remembering, the draft would not look very good at all. The draft picks that did dhow promise, also showed their ability to get injured.

I don't think they move up from ten either. Im guessing they move up from 44
I like that
We don’t need 10 warm bodies
We need 3-4 really good prospects and if that means that’s all the players we get I’m fine with that
An UDFA has as much a chance of developing as a 6-7 round picks
We need a major talent injection
I’d even consider trading a future second to package and add a second this year

It’s virtually impossible to plan a move up or down without knowing who is taken in what order. Too many fans act as if you can plan a trade down scenario weeks in advance and stick with it.

Good GMs and FO decision makers always wait to see how things unfold before making that final decision. And they also have multiple “what if” scenarios based on how their own board unfolds. A trade down makes sense when you are high on someone you think will probably be there at say the 15th pick, and you could potentially move down to get him while also picking up another pick.

Draft night is ALWAYS full of surprises. I just want the Cowboys to follow their draft board. We’re paying Will McClay handsomely to scout and prepare our draft board. Following that board as opposed to JJ (or this board, lol) is critical to a good draft.

The Cowboys have 10 selections in the 2021 NFL draft. Only the Philadelphia Eagles (11) have more.

The Cowboys need Trader Jerry to reappear.

They don't need wild-uncle Jerry making trades for trades' sake, which seemed to be the case in 2009, a special-teams-centric draft that turned out to be one of the Cowboys' worst drafts.

The Cowboys need with-a-purpose Jerry to make moves.

To many, it might scream that using all 10 picks is the best way to help cost certainty, but there is no way 10 draft picks, plus a couple of undrafted free agents, will make the 53-man roster. Before folks get carried away by remembering sixth- and seventh-round success stories, there are far more misses and never-weres.

Todd is advocating moving up and having a smaller class.

There just isn't room on this roster for 10 new players from this draft or even in the world.

How many years of no trades that worked since 1995 do Arlington Jonesboys fans need to realized that Jerry Jones did not make the trades, draft and free agent signing that built the Dallas Cowboys Team of the 90s.

Case in point, John Wooten called Pittsburgh and made the trade for the no.17 pick in the 1990 draft to draft Emmitt Smith. Jimmy Johnson, Bob Ackles, and John Wooten was the brain trust that worked the Herschel Walker trade.

Let Jerry Jones stay put at no.10 and then let McClay draft the Best Available Players of Need.

So do you package picks and trade for quality or do you trade down on some and get quantity?

Personally, I wouldn't mind turning 10 picks into 6 or 7 quality guys with at least 4 of them in the top 100.

If we really want to be honest....Trader Jerry left the building when Jimmy Johnson left....

When is the last time we made a move that seemed like a good deal?????

I disagree. We have tons of holes on this roster and poor depth. We could easily add 10 new rookies . ....... I'd say the bottom 15 on the roster would have a time making another team.

If they could grab an extra 3rd or even a late 2nd and move back in the first, then trade some of their mid round stuff to grab an extra 3rd, they could realistically end up with a 1, two 2nds, 3 3rds....and then it doesn’t matter what they get beyond.

they have the draft capital to do it

I don’t think 10 rookies makes this team....if personally rather have 6 that are at or near starters and use the rest to move up.

remember, we will also have a few undrafted fas too so 10 just seems too high
