Schultz has little to no trade value. You could maybe get a conditional 7th that could turn into a 6.
For whatever reason, solid starters won’t bring much in a trade for draft picks. I have seen some good players that brought no higher than a 5th round draft pick in a trade. It doesn’t make sense in a way.

The way it looks right now is if Pitts is there at ten Jerry won't make the same mistake as he made in 98 so that leaves 3 really good TE's on the roster and the way Schultz played last I could see the Cowboys easily getting a 3rd of 4th round pick from a team that needs a TE (like the Eagles) oh and I don't give a d amn if the Eagles are in the same division. Having 3 really good TE's on the roster is nice but unnecessary so one of them has to go and it could be Schultz.
The way yall so hilariously compare Moss to Pitts. Mannnnnnnnnnn

Why would anybody trade for a TE that they new you would have to cut anyway?

We just invested a billion dollars in Dak so we need to draft O line or TE to make sure we get the most out of the billion dollars. That is how the Cowboys operate. Some consider it to be insane. You be the judge.

I am sure Dak would love to get 15 more possessions per year on takeaways. Get him some defensive playas!

Schultz is a slow ** Witten clone who turns a 5 yd pass into 10. Pitts can turn a 5 yarder into a house call. BIG difference.

I think we all agree that Pitts has super high upside. It’s the question of whether drafting an offensive skill player makes sense or not. I am in the trade back camp and draft defense.

i'm wondering if we could trade for Heath. If they draft a safety and some have them doing that then Heath could strengthen our rotation in case of injury.

Won't this look foolish if it turns out that all the attention the Cowboys are giving Pitts is what is commonly called gamesmanship to not reveal who they may really want to draft with that 10th pick. They did the same thing in 2005 with Merriman and then drafted Ware.

I keep Schultz because he does so many things like Witten did.

You can tell he studied Witten a lot and he just knows where to be and is a very dependable passing target for the QB.

I'm actually shocked at how good he was.

If you don’t recall, we had HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE red zone efficiency. THAT’S why we need Pitts.

The problem in the Red Zone is not WR or TE. You have Cooper, Gallup, CD and Shultz plus, we have Elliott and Pollard. At some point, you have to take a hard look at that talent and ask yourself, is adding another threat to what is easily a top 3 skill set and probably the best skill set in the nfl really, going to help? The reason we aren't getting it done in the Red Zone is not because we need more threats in the passing game.

Trade Schultz? why? you think Dallas is getting Pitts. LOL....come on, grasshopper, ..he will be gone in the top 5. And too much for Dallas to give up. Especially with such a inferior defense and needing players to help on that side of the ball. If he falls to them at 10, maybe they get tempted....but if i buy a lottery ticket maybe i can win too.

That is trying pretty hard to connect some dots.

The reality is there is 0% chance he makes it to 10. NONE.

Shultz and Pitts would be dangerous. Lamb, Gallop, and Cooper = Super Bowl if we get lucky on the other side. 15th ranked Defense would be fine.

Didn’t we just watch the best and speediest offense get out muscled in the Super Bowl? lol. I’m sure Pitts will be good but this hype is really ridiculous when there’s one ball to go around and a D that flat out sucks. Some think we’re just gonna light up every team in the NFL with this addition! Don’t hold your breath!

You could get a sixth rounder for him. Tops.

I generally agree.

And the point of my earlier post was that if you can acquire a DL, LB or DB that is approximately the equivalent talent level to a Schultz or a Jarwin--e.g., average to good.... then you've effectively gotten the best of the deal, assuming Pitts performs at the level projected.
