I don’t think we win that many, until Hurts pans out we don’t have a QB.
Here’s a reason this topic makes me cringe, but is also damning of Philly.
Dallas’s record
2016: 13-3
2017: 9-7
2018: 10-6
2019: 8-8
2020: 6-10
Most of the guys Rockport mentioned are the reason Dallas is in decline. They have contributed to the problems you currently face. Zeke is now the highest paid RB ever, despite running for 1600, then 1400, then 1300, then 900 yards (not counting the suspension year). Everyone here is chastising Rockport for proclaiming LVE as a feather in Dallas’s cap... has he not declined synchronously with Dallas’s record since his rookie season? Demarcus Lawrence isn’t the player he was before he got paid, Jaylon Smith isn’t the player he was before he got paid, Amari Cooper still hasn’t taken That leap he needs to deserve 20m$ a year despite being in year SEVEN. Dak is another issue altogether. It’s not his fault, but it seems the better he plays, the worse the rest of the team plays, he’s the buoy to keep them around .500. Maybe that’s a coaching thing, a Jerry glitz and glamor thing, a paycheck thing, who knows.
Dallas could very well win 14 games next year, it really is a bad division and you are unquestionably the most talented team for the 7th year in a row (and more importantly the only one with anything close to a pro bowl QB). But to proclaim the guys who were there in the decline are the ones you’re cheering about is such a bizarre stance.
Now how is that damning for Philly? We’re in the same decline, except ours is a very different reason. Philly won a ring, then cashed out to keep on older veterans to maintain winning. We traded away picks for players on top of all the picks we traded for Carson, we bought big free agents every year... to middling success. We made the playoffs more than you in that span, but we also couldnt get out of the second round. The difference here is now all those veterans are being cut and our cap is a mess, plus we have almost no major talent under 30.
We have 11 picks in this draft and 2 firsts next year (3 if Carson plays at least 12 games), so I’m pumped about the rebound, but the odds of us being better than you this year is entirely based on Hurts becoming the next Kirk Cousins/Russell Wilson/Nick Foles “Who saw that coming” type situation... which could happen but isn’t terribly likely.
Washington is the best team, and I’m not a Giants believer. So for the division, I think if you go 10-7 that should do it. I don’t think WFT will let you win it with 9
