It seems that since Surtain has been the constant pick according to all the Draft prognosticators, I wonder if many fans are getting disenchanted with the pick because it has become boring. As far as I can tell, Surtain is the consensus top CB in the draft so I wouldn't have a problem at all with the pick.
I think it will be between him and one of the O-Tackles should they be available.

I'm not a fan of picking CBs that high unless they're athletic freaks. We got burned by Mo because it's easy for a CB on a dominant team to get lots of nice highlite plays against dominated opponents.

Yes, I would be OK with picking Surtain at ten. Because I don't worry about things I can't change or control.

Hint, hint...haters!

I didn't have problem with Mo and most talking heads didn't either it what was given up to get Mo is what I had a problem with. At least here if Surtain makes it to 10 it is him or someone else or a trade back.

Of all the guys who are in play for our first round pick, the ones that play CB are the ones I'd be least excited by. It's a position highly dependent on players in front of him; a CB isn't going to make any major impact by himself. And at 10, I want an impact player. We could clone Deion and absent major upgrades to our front seven, the defense will still be mediocre at best, and probably not even that.

I want a ferocious front 7 also and the Cowboys haven't done a very good job addressing that area over the years, but they have Lawrence, get Gregory for a full season, hopefully Anae turns the corner in year 2. Plus they should get a nice defensive haul in this draft. Gallimore has the makings to be a good one. Hoping for good things from Hill. Some want instant success. Development is the key here. And even with the crappiest D play in history, Diggs was far from mediocre.

Barring Pitts falling, there isn't a better option for this team

People don't know how good this guy is..he makes the game look way too easy..now people are mistaking that for a lack of athleticism / talent..no sir

Yeah I think he helps us the most next year. Don't get me wrong I'd be okay with either tackle but I think Surtain will have a more immediate impact. Don't think Pitts gets to us...

Very risky because I see no reason why the Giants or the Eagles wouldn't take Horn. They could use him.
Unlikely the Giants would take either (Horn or Surtain) because they just signed two corners to big contracts. They’re much more likely to go WR, edge or O line IMO.

I need to start brushing up on the Eagles but they could use help all over so who knows. I could see them going WR or CB or O line.

My favorite consolation prize for missing out on Pitts,Sewell or Slater.

I like Surtain for all the opposite reasons why they liked guys like Matt Johnson, Bruce Carter, etc. He is a TECHNICIAN at his position. Maybe he isn't an "elite" athlete, but he knows the CB position inside and out, unlike some who are still "raw" at CB. Yeah, "raw" sometimes just doesn't work out.

If no trade down possible and all or just one of the following falss to us... I would be ok.

Pitts
Sewell
Slater
Surtain
Horn.

I think we should have at least one of us available to us at 10.

Never have a problem with taking the best defensive player on the board, and that's Surtain
Could be!

Then again, it's almost equally possible that he's not even the 2nd best CB.....let alone the very best defensive player at any position.

Guess we'll be able to better at least debate it in a few years.

Yes but it's not going to make a big difference.

The biggest difference will come from scheme and being less aggressive in coverage.

I have Jaycee Horn is my #1 corner in this draft.

Surtain is too safe for me. If i'm going to take a corner this high I want a gambler with a dawg mentality.

It's weird, the knock on Horn is that he's too grabby, but Surtain seems just as grabby, if not worse. Surtain reminds me a lot of Mo Claiborne.

Surtain is a clean prospect but I do think he’s going to struggle to get his head turned when the ball is in the air and shifty WRs could give him problems.

He’s had amazing competition to play and practice against as well as some of the best coaching.

I just prefer Horn because of athleticism and the mentality he plays with.

Horn is a guy that could bring a swagger to this defense. A real competitor that we desperately need.

Surtain is just not exciting at all and just too safe for me.

If I’m betting on Surtain or Horn to become an impact player my money is on Horn.

With that said.. Jaelen Phillips will be the steal of the draft and the guy we regret passing on for a corner like the stupid football team we are. (That’s without knowing his medical. The same medical that hasn’t had any impact on his Miami career)

If Surtain is there I'd be very happy. However if Slater is there I'd take him and I hope he isnt.
