With as much 4 and 5 wide this team runs Wilson will likely see 15-20 offensive snaps a game in addition to what he gets on STs. I think that's fine.. I also think that being Dak's buddy and being the 4th option on the offense will get him some open looks. We could do a lot worse at the #4 receiver spot.
Can he take advantage of those spots?

It's a tricky situation...in my pedestrian opinion. You HAVE to be robotically dependable....without the repetitions to make it muscle memory. It's why guys in the 4 and 5th spots don't really survive. You could have anyone in there and do about the same.

Of course we *could* do worse. You or me.

After this the only pass catchers under contract are:

Cooper
Lamb
Jarwin
This is why I'll be looking for extensions during TC to secure the services of key backups like Shultz n Wilson/Brown.

I liked Wilson before he was even drafted, so I'm good the tender signing today. Cowboys are certainly getting a versatile player back. WR4, Gunner (Punt team), Punt returner, Emergency QB and gaget guy...value.

The problem is who do you sit between Cooper, Lamb and Gallup to let him play? I like Wilson, but unless one of these guys gets injured I doubt Wilson will get much more action than he got last year.
While working in TE's. You need to keep Zeke in the passing game he CAN be truly formidable. And if you don't keep Pollard as a passing threat you're not keeping the opposing defense on their toes.

So really he is NOT a #4. More like a #7. Or so.

This is just insurance. He's not getting 12 touches/targets a game like some suggested. Glad to have him.

You need to check his stats before Dak got injured. He and Dak had a connection. He was on pace for 800 yards. I think Gallup walks after this year and Wilson and a speedy draft pick replace most of Gallup's snaps in 2022.

With the rumors going around of Gallup possibly getting traded away during the draft, I'm glad to hear Cedrick Wilson is sticking around.

Wilson has turned into a pretty good late round pickup. If he somehow ended up being the #3 receiver, I think he has a good enough chance to deliver some solid results.

I remember in 2018 as rookies Wilson was having a better camp than Gallup; and then he got hurt. And Wilson was off to a great start last season but essentially disappeared after Dak's injury.

I've always liked Cedrick. I feel he has as good a pair of hands as any WR we've ever had. Anyway, to me, he's a first-rate guy. If we had as many capable backups as he is, we'd be in way better shape than we are now, imho. I'm pleased to see he been retained.
