You only make that trade if they also throw in a number 1 in 2022.

Dallas doesn't need more draft picks this year. The 10 draft picks aren't making the team. It's a wasted effort.

I say consolidate the 10 picks to trade up later in the draft. If Dallas doesn't select any players on day 3 it would be fine.

Blogging The Boys had an article breaking down how well Dallas drafted each day and the drop off on day three was extreme.
The drop off is extreme for every team
But you are right
We don’t need more picks
We need more talented players
I wouldn’t trade down 8-10 spots unless it was a very special offer like there one and next years one
I’d be all over trying to leverage those later picks to get another second

Given the Fins plethora of picks we may actually be able to get a special offer, if the right player falls.

Normally I would say no .......Panthers have 1st round grades on 15 players but honestly a trade down around 15-18 puts us right in Moehrig range of the draft's best safety. Just me, but unless Pitts, Slater, or Sewell drops to 10, yea I'd do this.

2021 NFL Draft Rumors: Dolphins looking to trade up for second top-ten pick?

usa_today_12589570.0.jpg

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Dolphins have already been busy in the 2021 NFL Draft, trading out of the third position, back to the 12th spot, then back up to the sixth-overall pick. Rumors over the past few days have the Dolphins considering another trade, with the common though that Miami could trade back to add additional picks either this year or in 2022. Now, however, there is some speculation that Miami could be looking to trade up, but not from the sixth spot, but rather from their second first-round pick, the 18th-overall selection.

https://www-thephinsider-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.thephinsider.com/platform/amp/2021/4/24/22401377/2021-nfl-draft-rumors-dolphins-looking-to-trade-for-second-top-ten-pick?amp_js_v=a6&amp_gsa=1&usqp=mq331AQFKAGwASA=#aoh=16193223977578&csi=0&referrer=https://www.google.com&amp_tf=From %1$s&ampshare=https://www.thephinsider.com/2021/4/24/22401377/2021-nfl-draft-rumors-dolphins-looking-to-trade-for-second-top-ten-pick

Dolphins currently own the (1st round) 6th, 18th and (2nd round) 50th overall picks (in RED) within the first 2 rounds.

The Cowboys own the (1st round) 10th and (2nd round) 44th overall picks (in GREEN) within the first 2 rounds.

If the Cowboys and Dolphins agreed to make a trade:

Dolphins move up from the 18th pick and get the Cowboys 10th overall pick, the Cowboys would move down 8 spots and get the Dolphins 18th overall pick while also getting the Dolphins 50th overall pick. Those 2 picks (18th & 50th) would equal the trade value (700 points difference) to trade away the 10th overall pick to the Dolphins. That would move the Cowboys down 8 spots in the 1st round, but it would also give the Cowboys another mid-2nd round pick, thus giving them 2 picks in every round (2nd, 3rd & 4th rounds) while still having a pick in the teens in the 1st round (Cowboys have snatched up great players in the teens spot in the 1st round in the past).

Would you rather stay put and only have 1 pick to use in each first 2 rounds, or would you make the trade down while still getting a 1st round pick in the teens while grabbing an extra mid-2nd round pick, thus securing 2 picks in each round (2nd, 3rd & 4th rounds)?

Lots of holes to fill on this team, especially Defense.

What say you? Should the Cowboys trade down a few picks in the 1st round while gaining an extra mid-2nd round pick or stay pat?

This is a no brainer.

give us 2 first round picks and I'd be fine with that

edit: and I don't mean swap 1sts and one extra first. Us nabbing one extra late 2nd round pick would be an absolute waste, I don't care what the point system says. Moving up to our pick does not mean we make a deal for you, you make a deal for us.

Three top 50 picks are better than two.

Why is it tough? You want another pass catcher, which we dont need over two great players of major need? Easy call for me.

Don't get me wrong, I'm perfectly happy with getting two good players at major need. Plus you spread out the injury risk over two individuals. It makes a lot of sense.

Absolutely. No way they can leave the draft without CB, Safety, LB and DT.
There absolutely is a way. I don't think they ignore corner and the numbers dictate a LB. But they could definitely bypass DT and S in terms of devoting a premium pick.

Depends. If there is a top 10 defensive player available, no stay and make the pick. If there are a few guys you like but don't rate them too 10 then sure trade back if you can come to terms on a trade.

If Pitts slides, I could see Miami trying to snag him for Tua.

If Pitts is there at 6 they are picking him of that I have no doubt. I think if 5 QBs went in the first 5 picks they would take Pitts at 6.

If we can pick up an extra 2nd and 3rd, I'd be all for it.

At 18, we should still be able to get someone like Farley, Jaelan Phillips, Zaven Collins, Oweh, the Notre Dame LB, TCU safety, etc.

I don't see the top 2 CBs as light years above the rest of the defensive players with a first round grade.

The value on defense is in rounds 2-4 anyway. I would be down with this trade. Drop to 18 and take Farley, Darrisaw, Newsome, Barrmore, JOK, or Moehrig. Then we can add another 4 players in the top 100.

Quality over quantity imo. There are about 10-12 blue chip prospects coming out this year. Why pass one up?
Just go back to previous drafts and 80-90% of the time anything outside the first 50 picks is nothing more than a backup. I would love for us to trade up back into the end of the first round to get a guy we love. I would give up our 2nd, 3rd and the late 4th if there is someone who has a mid first round grade.

Assuming the draft fell in a similar way, we could have had Jalen Ramsey with that 4 and Derek Henry with our second pick. Imagine Jalen Ramsey, Derek Henry, and Dak Prescott.
I personally don’t believe Henry would be having the same success in Moore’s offense that he is in the Titans offensive scheme.

No. Zip, zero, nada.
They want 2 top ten picks because they want quality. They get silver dollars and we get a pocket full of pennies.
Thanks but no thanks. I want that #10 pick.
C’mon, man - that’s just dumb thinking. We can still get a starter at 18 (Farley, Horn, Darrisaw) AND get a 2nd starter at 50 Bolten or Browning) for ONE PICK.
