Agree, but i dont like Slater at 10, if we cant get a CB, i think we trade down for another second . Only Sewell or Pitt at 10

Slater is the best lineman imo. If a QB falls they should trade down and try to get a high pick from either the Bears, Commanders or Patriots looking for a QB.

My 2021 draft day feelings are:
1) At least one team will trade up to get into the top 10 ahead of us.
2) 3 players not generally projected to be first rounders will be selected in rd 1
3) Jabril Cox could be a fantastic value if he doesn't go til late 2nd or 3rd as quite a few rankings have him.
4) Devine Diablo could be nice consolation prize as a hybrid S \ LB in the 85-100 range. Would be a fun name to root for. I can just imagine a european soccer announcer calling his plays.
5) Although there are some fine WR prospects who will be drafted early, I think there could be 1-2 later round picks that have comparable careers.
6) Organizations are going to overpay for talented players with significant risks. I hope we don't continue to do this.
7) Although generally regarded as a weak class in many respects, I think this class my produce above average pro bowlers, all pro's and dare I say 3-4 HOF level talents.
8) Although I'm on board with trading down, it will tick me off to have to wait that much longer to know the outcome.

Not sure why they would panic for a CB when Slay is already their 1

There are two CBs on the field and they literally have nothing but junk at the other CB. CB is definitely a position they could go with in the first round (along with WR, even OL). Their GM basically came out and admitted they have a need at CB.

Further, Slay is older and expensive and there could be a point during their rebuild where it makes little sense to pay him while they are spitting out a 6 win season.

Same prob I have. 44 is like a dead zone. Of course, that's using lists that really have no real meaning, but still.

I'd like to see a trade up to top part of second round, because there will be fallers from the first there

Either that or what I typically do, trade down for more picks later.

Draft Farley in a trade back with the Patriots get the extra 2nd. We would have 3 top 50 picks. I think that is what Carolina is going to do.
Really think if Pitts is taken by Atlanta, one of Detroit or Carolina is trading back for a QB needy team.

-Think the only teams to trade up will be for a QB.
-Really like both Diablo and Nasirledeen as that hybrid S/LB.
-Cox to me is a nickel only player, wouldn't touch him until 75.
-Think it's weak at the top, but has good depth on day 2.

I think Atlanta will take Pitts but I also think it will be there downfall.

Matty Ice has already been declining and I think he will fall off a lot the next couple of years. They will be decent next year with Pitts and then drafting late first round next year. At some point you have to draft his successor.

They will be one of those teams that has to sell the farm to draft a QB in 2022. When they could draft a QB now and groom him behind Ryan. I would think Lance or Fields would be ideal for them but they must not like either. I think they will waste Pitts if they draft him.

I agree...i think Atlanta is nuts for not going QB...if they don't. I thought I read somewhere where Ryan has a 48M cap hit next year.

Haven't felt this way the entire draft process but today my gut feeling is Sewell or Pitts will still be on the board when we pick at 10, along with Slater and either Horn or Surtain.

was listening to Sirus XM this morning and Solomon Wilcox was talking about Detroit and their new GM Speilman. Speilman's said that the league is changing and you have to build from the outside in...no longer build the trenches...surprised me with that. A Detroit beat writer thinks they take Surtain.
Speilman was a great player and I think he could be a good GM.

-believe 5 QB's are going to be taken ahead of us.
-see 2 WRs going before our pick
-Atlanta will take Pitts or trade down
-could see Lions go WR or trade down with Philly
-if Sewell falls to 8 then believe Chargers will try to go up and get him
-You would think Denver goes defense with a defensive HC
-Believe Pitts is going to be a Falcon
-Cincy will take Chase and Dolphins will take Waddle
-Horn will be a Cowboy if at 10
-Cowboys take Pitts if at 10 and then will trade back into the 1st for a CB

-I am confident 4 QB's are going to be taken ahead of us.
-We should cheer a 2nd WR taken ahead of us, will guarantee a another top prospect to fall
-Atlanta can shake up the entire draft, will they take the #4 QB, Pitts or tradeback?
-Picks 7-9, can go in many different directions that could affect the Cowboys selection, one of these picks is going to be a QB, contingent on Atlanta's selection.
-Carolina is the biggest threat to take the first corner and they reportedly love Horn
-You would think Denver goes defense with a defensive HC
-Believe Pitts is either going to be a Falcon or a Dolphin.
-Hearing Chase is a lock for Cincy
-I'm convinced the Cowboys have Horn as their #1 Corner on their board
-Don't think the Cowboys trade back, think they will draft one of these 5: Pitts, Horn, Sewell, Surtain, Slater in this order.

I agree with your analysis except for Denver going defense. They gotta get help for their QB whoever it is going to be (Locke, Bridgewater or a rookie, maybe 9th overall pick).

Micah Parsons sleeper pick.

I think Dallas will stay at 10 as well. I don't see Pitts being there at 10. But I do think one of Surtain, Slater, Sewell will make it to 10. I would take whoever remained of those three. I would prefer one of the lineman if I had to choose. Horn is a little bit lower rated for me.

Although, I certainly have not put as much time this year as previous years.

There's another thread started not too long ago about how the Cowboys can mess this up. I didn't think of this one. If Sewell makes it to 10 and Dallas picks someone else.

I'm betting they'll take oline like Slater or a Qb.

If not offense then Parsons.

That would suck if Panthers take Horn and Broncos take Surtain. Would be our luck lol
